I only just met the Wild Hunt (6th fight on the Bald Hilltop), and I can already tell these guys are going to be a pain in the ass. I'm not quite sure how Wild Gaze works, but it sure is effective, even against characters with a high Will save. Other than Amiri and Nok-Nok, my characters remained paralysed during most of the fight.

Well, I guess Freedom of Movement is going to start being useful.
Blind-Fight ftw

Most of the "counter-arguments" don't really address anything i said. Except maybe Pink Eye's. And the pseudo historical ones are cringe worthy. But let's drop the issue.
If one wants to believe the opening of the plot makes sense - sure, be my guest. I want only to say that one can like the game for its gameplay (especially with TB mod!) even if he thinks the plot doesn't make much sense. As i already said - plots in a lot of crpgs don't make much sense to begin with. Maybe PK is not that bad in that regard all things considered.

Too long, I didn't read it but i'm sure it was very very well thought and you put hours of effort into it. However I wish You health and curing your behind from chronic pains ! Merry Christmas.

Did you only get the small photos? I'm not seeing the full length or medium ones that the game uses in that forum link you sent me.

I didn't need the medium or full length ones for the Codex avatar gallery.

I also used UABE, but I want all the portraits, not to go into the game and cherry-pick specific ones. I used to be able to find them all by digging into the resource files manually, now I can't.

Maybe I'll ask you to use that mod to find the location of particular portraits that I previously extracted and can no longer find and see what comes up.
Jesus, you looked through all those resource files like I was about to? How long did it take you or did you just randomly hit the jackpot? That mod is a fucking god-send. Do you know what resource number it was? Also, it gave you that sheet of all the UI portraits?

basically Blind-Fight simulates the PC closing their eyes to avoid 'seeing' the Gaze attack

Thanks for the tip. It's actually mentioned in the description of the feat, but I hadn't paid attention to it because gaze attacks seemed to be very rare.

Well, at least my melee fighters are immune. I'll just have to use the right spells to protect the rest of the team.

This game is a lot harder on hard than when I first played. I defeated the bandits a lot easier than when I started a long ass time ago, but when I got to the tomb, shit got real. The mage casts like 2 gigantic spells on the archer and the warrior. Thing is that Amiri+Enlarge+Rage+Charge is a fucking beast. She's literally the only person worth a shit in my group.

Now, I'm on the two Kobolds, and I can't seem to hit the fuckers. I don't want to waste spells/potions, but the motherfuckers are tearing my team up because we can't fucking hit them worth shit. I'm surrounding the fuckers, and all you hear is "miss, miss, miss."

I like that I actually have to use potions, but I'm beating these encounters by the skin of my teeth. I'm playing a bit of a gimped Paladin (which are already gimped from what I'm reading), so it's definitely my fault for not min-maxing (which I hate). Anyways, I think I'm going to go back down to challenging instead of hard. All this reloading is making this game longer than it should be. Not sure what happened, but I don't remember missing so much when I played this a long ass time ago. Like, I don't mind the crits hurting and the battles being more fast-paced, but my team can't hit the fucking side of a barn.

Fun Fact: Of all the races playable at level 1, Kobolds have the highest AC due to +1 natural AC bonus, small size and +2 Dex.

Of course, since they are CR 1/4 (effectively LA -2; normal humans being CR 1/2), they need all the help they can get as a PC...

Yeap. On higher difficulties, enemies get extra stats, which gives them higher saves, AC, attack and damage rolls. Then they get bonuses on their saves, AC, attack and damage rolls. This makes early game hardest part of any unfair playthrough because you don't have stats, abilities or items to deal with enemies. On top of this Pathfinder early game is swingy without any stat infilation. A single critical hit from two handed weapon user will one shot your character at start.

Just bought this game and at least after 10 hours it seems really good. Sure, the characters and dialog are garbage but the combat is great and the quest loop feels satisfying. I hope that the game doesn't try to shove some half-assed plot down my throat or try to make me care about any ot the NPCs and just keeps the focus on the things it does well.

I'm not liking the dialogue choices so far. I was exhausting dialogue with Valerie, and the bitch goes on and on about how beautiful she is (woe is me bullshit). Seems like there is a reason that her intelligence is so low. She's worse than Aerie with "muh wings, bruh." The only dialogue choice you have is to do what she just spent hours telling you what she hates, compliment her on her looks.

I feel like the dialogue choices are far too basic. This is kind of shitty considering Avellone is supposedly writing this game, and Planescape shined with the dialogue options it gave you. The high Intelligence and Wisdom Nameless One would've BTFO'd Valerie with his wit.

Starting dialogue trees from Valerie, Amiri, Octavia and Regongar is probably absolute worst writing this game has to offer. Pity that it is one of the first things people encounter from the start.

I have suspicion it was written pretty early in development for playable demo/beta so quality is so out of the line comparing to everything after.

I didn't mind Amiri so much. Her and Linzi are the only dialogue trees that I didn't mind. Amiri pretty much owns that she's stupid, and I think you can put her in her place if you are lawful neutral. I should've picked it, but I didn't want my alignment to change (should've picked it and reloaded just to see what happened--but too late now).

So are you saying that the writing gets better later in the game? I just finished Disco Communism so the dialog in Pathfinder feels like it was written by a child, but I don't mind the writing as long as I can skip it.

It would never hit artsy heights of Disco, but comes pretty close to NWN, IWD and BG, even if it stumbles a bit in some places. When main plot hits in full force around chapter 3 (Bloom) MCA presence becomes quite noticeable and pieces that seemed generic adventuring before start to fall into picture.

Also, best companions come later. And cringy pick up lines for romances disappear from dialogues of early ones.

Hellknight quest is much much worse though. But I think it was a kickstarter reward or something.

I need spoilers for Jaethal's quest. This is a hard one, though:
If I kill Tristian, does that mean that I can take the evil options in Jaethal's quest and still have her in the party forever?

These alchemist fire and acid flasks are :shredder:

Do you get an Alchemist companion down the line? I'm considering building a hired merc one, too good to pass up.
