That's one way to go. I'd be curious to try a Freebooter with Weapon and Shield Style. You get Shield Master at lvl 6 and Lead Blades.

Taking the 500 BP is a no brainer, although you want to spam some Shrines around a Monument in your first two settlements before it comes online. You'd have to build 2,001 BP worth of buildings before you'd go in the red and by then your swimming in cash.

First time I took it I had Teleportation Circles up barely a year into the game (well before Season).

Just copy Valerie's recommended builds. Tower Shield Specialist / Stalwart Defender, take every AC enhancing feat there is, and maybe also grab the demoralizing chain if you want.

Yeah, can't really go wrong with Val, but I like builds that can take advantage of her CHR.

Crane style, I never understood it. So it does work with sword and shield?

Just lessens the penalty for Fighting Defensively. Crane Wing isn't supposed to work with Shield but does.

If I had it to do over again wouldn't have worried about the Monk splash, but it made the Feats go smoother since it's full BAB.

My second playthrough was Hospitaler MC. It is awesome. I'd go two-hander best available to take advantage of Marital Proficiency and STR/Power Attack bonuses for two-handers. Reach isn't a bad idea, but there are a lot of good two-handers without it.

Sword and Shield isn't the worst, but there aren't enough feats on Paladin to Shield Bash.

That build looks interesting, what classes and stats did you pick?

It's there in the pics. I'd take more WIS and/or STR and less DEX since you can get the DEX you need for Two Weapon Fighting from equipment.

Oh yeah my bad, saw it in the summary.

Any idea why I cannot use Quicken metamagic on its own without Extend also being activated? It's impossible to deactivate Extend, so I end up with +5 levels. And this is for Magic Missile, so it doesn't make any sense (at least to me) to have Extend available at all.

Did you try dragging the hourglass out of its slot?

Also Quickened Magic Missiles are like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Now Divine Guardian 3 is a splash that doesn't get enough love.

I had the same bug a couple of months ago. If you have magic items (rods, cloaks...) that apply metamagic effects you your spell, you should try to unequip them before opening the metamagic interface.

Because she's a Cleric?

Can you (or anyone who knows) explain the main difference on traditional monk and scaled fist dip?
If you take one or two Monk levels, one of the things you are most interested in probably is the AC bonus. Usually, this bonus is based on your Wisdom score, but with the Scaled Fist it's based on Charisma, so it's the way to go if you want to dip as a Paladin, a Sorcerer, an Eldritch Scion or any other Charisma-based class/archetype.

Aha thanks. Right now I'm looking either at that crusader build or something like an aldori defender with monk dip but not really sure where to go from there with that one.

There are some really good heavy armors with nice bonuses. You can achieve about 50-70 AC with a heavy armor set + heavy shield + Perfection(Longsword).

Dex Aldori with 1 lvl monk is a very tanky build, second to the sword saint. Most importantly you will be end game viable tank with your high touc ac. Str tanks dont get much touch ac exept TSS.
Add 4 lvls of swordlord for the 1.5 dex to dmg and adaptive tactics.

With heavy armor you can easily go above 50 AC. Touch AC is mostly a meme. People overblew it with house at the end of time. This is how much AC I was getting with Jaethal at the mid game:

At the late game I was easily getting 60+ AC.
