I'd rather have more buffs. It's not like 260 damage stormbolts is bad during a few hard fights. That's also spending a lot of feats

On the internet, writing shit posts.
Buffs are great. I actually really like the druid's spell list because so much of it are unique self buffs, summons and debuffs. Its just that the itemization is kind of poor for a melee build (which is what you want as a blight druid or just a wild shape user in general) because your armour options are pretty limited, and I found that you actually get less AC in wild shape because you lose armour and barkskin doesn't stack with wild shape's nat armour. I know that mage armour can be used to compensate for that, but still.
Also Legendary Proportions does not make your wild-shape form huge, and that makes me sad.

I don't know about you guys, but the one time I fought the Spawn, the MVP (other than the MC) is the cleric who dropped first the Hearth power and then 3-4 Blade Barriers right under the fat bastard. The AT was getting rid of the spawn's spawns with Chain Lightning. Direct damage works, if you can sustain it.

Dark Elementalist fully charged up has the same power blasts as regular kineticist with full burn. The advantage is that you don't lose the HP from burn (which doesn't matter in 99% of circumstances since you should be a ranged character). The disadvantage is that its only active after the first few fights each day.
But you can keep sucking Souls to access more Burn as you go. Depending on INT bonus you end up with a decent amount more burn to spend per rest than a regular Kinnie, so can use it as a Haste battery for each fight or just to power up bigger blasts.

Buffs are great.
Yeah, I love spending 10 minutes every time I enter a new area clicking through and applying all my buffs because that buff bot mod that everyone recommends doesn't work for some reason.
I dunno which one you're using but the one I recommend works 100%.
I'm sure it works perfectly for everyone except me.
I mean suffer if you want but I assure you I can get it working for you

Oh maybe. Don't you need dazzling display first? Throwing dazzling display on bowmen and mages feel weird for me.
No, you don't. Its an 8th level class ability, does not have prerequisites.

After the Dazzling Display Full Round fix/nerf, bard's Dirge of Doom is vastly better.

Can't stack songs anymore so this is now bad.

Dark Elementalist never worked for me in Kingmaker, but its soulburn ability worked in WotR. I think it's because it has an HD requirement for corpses.

It works one at a time, which ends up being enough if you're in a dungeon with 7-10 fights as you will be often enough in P:K. End up having access to an extra point of burn each fight that recharges after you're done with each one.

But in general I strongly believe that having her meaningfully contribute in pretty much every fight, including trash mob fights, far outweights that.
AT Octavia can use weapons to save on casts, which is relevant early-mid to late midgame.

First one is from the R4/W3/AT5 build that Daidre convinced me was inferior. Second was standard caster AT that still ended up using weapons to supplement spells (can see the spell at the top of the combat log with the Bow to finish off a straggler), last was Duelist tank build just for fun that ended up pretty good.

Yeah, except you need to fight sufficiently strong enemies to recharge.
And you're not very strong after a rest - and many tend to rest before major fights. And can't really unload during a serious fight.

For me those disadvantages are crippling.

Not that a Deadly Earth spammer won't be OP anyway. But it'll be a while. And of course, this playstyle can grow old real fast.

With no way to make Dazzling Display a Standard Action in Kingmaker, what other options do you have, though?
Cornugon Smash? Guess that's something, but you do need to hit the enemy with Power Attack enabled first.

Demoralize lol.

Should only need Shatter against hard targets. You eventually get Frightful.

Well it’s really good if you’re spamming Haste (Celerity) with Kanerah at level 6 nine times per rest or whatever.

Or I guess with Kanerah you’d have to wait until you get Air but if you start with Air in Depths can get it earlier.

Oh, right, good point.

Guess I haven't played those games for too long (and haven't played Kingmaker at all after the Bard Song stacking nerf).
