Sweet Zombie Jesus, it's 30 gb, that's going to take half a day on my connection. When did rpgs became this big? Am I just too old?
I was cleaning up my vidya folder a while ago and noticed that Dragon Age: Origins with just one small mod (permanent Dog party member) weighs 23,4 GBs.
Oddly, Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition weighs 10 GB. 3D graphics? Physics? Optimization? I don't know.
texture compression and resolution. compression alone can make a difference of up to 8x at virtually no quality loss. more with slight quality loss.
resolution just keeps steadily growing on the screens market so game studios adapt if they can.

So which other style of story do you prefer then?
The issue is that we've got the choice between Bioware tranny shit, Larian lol randumb shit and this. I prefer fairy tale stuff over the other two.

That's a story for another topic but in short-reason all these "retro" isometric attempts fail is because target audience are grownup basement dwellers. Kids of today are not interested, they play modern games so you should update for grownups in approach at least.
These kind of generic kids stories are just boring as f. Larian at least has interesting combat mechanics (Divinity 1 had, didn't get far in 2) not this RTwP variation cancer. If you stick with it at least make it visually appealing and story wise not Hansel and Gretel.

I don't think anyone ever intended this game to appeal to Zoomers, so uh... vOv

Possibly, but if posts like this one are correct, the devs have way jacked up the power level of default monsters (although he does not say what difficulty he is playing on)

https://steamcommunity.com/app/640820/discussions/0/1734340257887515978/?ctp=2

I noticed everything in the tutorial had like 13 AC and died in one hit, but it is the tutorial...
a lot(~20%ish I'd say) of the fights are way overtuned
I think it's to make up for the terrible AI, they just jacked the stats up instead.

Amiri is cannon in the Pathfinder world? LINK. I guess the devs aren't or not too much of a SJWs, just using a famous NPC in their games or something.

I've panicked for a while when I saw the kingdom management part for the first time but now I've put a couple of hours more into the game and I can say that the management part while not great it's miles above the PoE stronghold stuff. In fact, it has potential to be fun.

The reason why I had to post this is that I'm at level 5 or 6 and I had the tightest fight with some bandits :) I had to use everything I know to beat these shits and it was worth it. I never had to much fun in a classic CRPG in a while (probably years because PoE is a travesty compared to this).

I just want to fast mention a couple of things:
- Take your time with this game. It's not often you'll play a good IE-style CRPG. Please don't rush the game like the local retarded bulgarian. There are so many things and quests that you can miss.
- I know people complained about the writing but I find it simple and refreshing. No stupid lingos, mostly straight to the point with just enough bloat. I like it.
Note: The undead chick dialog makes sense in the context of her character.
- The world's lore is nice. I could not stand PoE2's lore because it was mostly exposition but in this one the lore and the environments are telling the same story.
- Each build is viable. People are complaining about difficulty. Yes, the combat is challenging but you have tools to manage it. Potions, scrolls, wands, pre-buffing and so on. You cannot simply click on a mob and expect him to die. For first time in years you need to think. Indeed, the game is screaming for TB combat but for once RTwP works and it's fun (and I hate RTwP).
- Most premade companions seems to be retarded at the first glance but I've made them work. I have a fighter, 2 barbarians, 1 cleric, 1 bard and 1 alchemist. All of them were original premade companions but now they have become quite strong.
Note: The spider swarm quest is trivialized once you get the first alchemist companion. The quest is actually part of chapter 2.
- The journal almost never says go exactly here and do that. It just says go explore this area and in almost all cases you have multiple paths to resolve major investigations. This is incline.
- Another shocking aspect: the itemization is brilliant. After many hours I still find weapons and items useful for my party. I don't know if the loot is generated but it works.
- I love the fact that my barbarian is not the most retarded build from the game. It's actually boring but very viable. The wizards are not OP like before and there are so many viable combinations you can make and none of them are retarded like PoE2 multiclassing.

But before someone accuses me of being a retarded fanboi I need to mention the bad parts (at least in my opinion):
- A lot of loading times but that's not easy fixable.
- The save system is bugged. It loads the last autosave even if you manually saved the game (in that case you have to manually load the game).
- The walking speed is a little bit obnoxious.
- The resting/fatigue mechanics could be improved a little bit. I cannot go far on the map without some characters getting fatigued.
Note: The barbarians become fatigue after Rage but it's not permanent. But still, it's annoying as fuck.
- If you cook shit everytime you rest then soon you'll be out of very important ingredients.
Edit: Indeed some companions can be obnoxious and spew SJW stuff but you can and in fact I decided to ignore that shit. I simply don't care about the "Hi, I suck dick" type of stuff. Overall this is not as important compared with the good things the game does. Also it's really rare and not in your face like in PoE2.

That's about it. I have no idea how far I'm in the story but I think the Russians did it. This has the potential to become a new classic.

PS: Sorry for the broken English but I wanted to write this fast.

Divinity 1, the original? Had the combat mechanics of Diablo clone. D:OS was about building box forts and dropping barrel bombs.

is being undead socially acceptable in pathfinder? if so yes, undead chicks response makes sense.

What Penalty: -4 [Shooting into combat] means, also why my strength modifier sometimes get calculated when I use spell and sometimes not, shouldn't charisma modifier be the one that is used for sorcerer

-4 penalty you're referring to means you get a -4 on attack rolls. So whatever the d20 attack roll, you subtract -4.

Reach weapons are bad ass on DD. Really like the fact that as a sorc i got second highest dmg in melee as Dragon Disciple
You can position yourself behind front like buff yourself and poke the shit out of everyone.

The characters are not shocked by her revelation however that was not my point.

Her character is evil therefore she is often cold and straight to the point (if you take her in your party). Also they are under time pressure when they meet her.

It kind of makes sense. It didn't bother me so much so honestly I don't know.

I can't believe they deleted my bug report. Fascists!

Lmao

For real though, when you have that skittering bard thing talk about how Valerie is some sunbathed goddess with flowing hair caught in a constant breeze you're not expecting a 12 year old boy with a bowlcut.

And yes, I know it's a "bobcut" before some guy who proudly boasts about working in a hair salon corrects me.
