5 years ago I might have asked the same question, but one senses the tide is turning on all that nowadays. The Great & Good have belatedly discovered that they still need red-blooded men to fight wars for Israel the US for a good while yet, so all that stuff is now looking more and more like luxury propaganda.

Some constructive criticism: The Irabeth-Anevian relationship still has the problem that Irabeth takes on the masculine role in their marriage, and Anevia(n) the female role. Also, it's interracial.

My suggested approach would be:

• Irabeth becomes a white male named Ivor (I know this is a another massive change)
• Anevia becomes a white female again, but without the disgusting tranny backstory.
• Fix Anevia's portrait so she doesn't look like a tranny.

I don't think it's a matter of having them in a game, it's the fact they have so damned many. When you toss a rock in to a crowd in a medieval based fantasy setting game, and you're more likely to hit a non-European looking person than a European one, there's a problem. And if you do hit a European looking person, and that person is more likely to talk with a lisp or have a penchant for sleeveless flanel shirts, that's also a problem.

The last few years I have been opting in favour of waiting a year or so for these new RPGs to have all the glitches/bugs patched out and expansions released before playing them.

Now it seems like it's also worthwhile waiting for a De-Woke Mod. Weird time to be living in lol.

It's definitely a growing niche.

I wonder if it means devs will offer less functionality to mod their games going forward?

i.e. you'll have the two things fighting each other: word from on high via DEI (or whatever other term anti-Whiteness is going to slither into in the next few years) investiment, and the desire to give your game some longevity via moddability.

Not that I've noticed yet on the playthrough I'm on, but I'm only about a third of the way through the game.

It really is quite a relief not to have those jarring elements in your face while playing. Ofc it's not perfect, but it's better than leaving the game as-is and feeling a bit icky for playing it.

I'd be curious to get your take on what/where you feel the mod is lacking... if it's in my power to fix or improve upon, my ultimate plan is to try to do so. I've just taken a bit of a break from it since the GOTY came out and I'm awaiting patches to be done with.

I think for me it's only little things, like Seelie still being a bit of a girlboss, some of the replacement voice acting (or is it AI replacement?) being a wee bit rough (though not unlistenable by any means), little things like that. Not to keen on some of the icons (Seelie and Sosiel), but that's a very minor thing, a question of taste, and I could fix it myself if it annoyed me too much. Nothing bad enough to make me want to not play with the mod.

If I find anything ongoingly (like out of place gender references or whatever) I'll report it on the RPGHQ thread!

>is literally a planet in the middle of interplanar war with dimension hoppers and time travelers
>literally just up north from these areas in game is a cyberpunk/fallout type area filled with robot laser scorpions and plasma sword wielding psychics(tm) and a literal space ship
>a large chunk of the population are literally aliens from a neighboring world in the solar system
>one of the adventures involves you plane shifting to earth to kill rasputin and fuck with baba yaga
>a black guy in the military is too unrealistic

So much effort wasted for what? But then again, that perfectly describes rpghq.

The difference is that the sci-fi elements and interplanar war aren't poorly thought out political pandering to appease a miniscule amount of the potential playerbase.

It's not about realism, it's about wanting to play a video game without subversive political lecturing, which has infested literally every entertainment medium available.

Keep in mind I still think these mods are retarded, there's literally hundreds of good games out there to play and you're wasting your time trying to de-wokeify a game that isn't even that noteworthy within its own genre.

And if you go to the point where you are drastically changing the dialogue and story to suit a palette swap, at that point you might as well just make your own product, it'll be more productive for you.

Yep, the mod brings all that shit just under the threshold of being a perpetual irritation. Some of the woketardery is ineradicable (e.g Seelie is still a girlboss, just not a nigger girlboss any more) but the game is more tolerable overall.
