No reason to buy in beta unless you're very thirsty. Bought alpha and while it was fun, SPOILERS. So better not.

Owlcat is a pretty unique studio they clearly want to make challenging games but they are also not dumb enough to ignore casuals and their money. WOTR is definitely a lot more accessible with the actual helpful tutorials, animated cutscenes, 360° camera and a story mode where losing is nearly impossible. No idea how is left from the once huge Bioware casuals fanbase but I assume WOTR has the potential to sell a lot more copies than Kingmaker ever did.
All this means that this will be the second good (perhaps) Owlcat game. And the last one as well. From there the studio will only get downhill and make casualized/consolized/cimatic-ized AAA garbage. At best they'll make mediocre stuff for mass market without taking any risks. How many times we saw that story before our eyes? I hope that i'm wrong though.

I choose to remain optimistic. Kingmaker was Owlcat's first game, but the people behind it made good games at Nival. They already had the chance to sell out and didn't take it. The Russians will buck the trend and save the industry.

But have they got "journo mode" ready? That's the all-important question :)

Not only that. The fans are willing to throw bucks for then work. Their game got more money on kickstarter than dos2, despite having less backers and I an pretty sure that US$2 mi can buy much more "lines of code" in Russia than in Belgium or in Commiefornia. All huge decline from small to medium studios come from western studios. ArcaniA and Sword Coast Legends being the most iconic examples.

I have thrown my money at them not for the access, but for the game itself. May be I will check the beta if I stop dying in Subnautica.

Important information regarding physical rewards

Fellow crusaders,

This update is important for those who wanted to purchase physical tiers and add-ons, but haven’t done it yet. We wanted to let you know that we will close the pre-orders on physical tiers and add-ons on the 28th of February, because we need to know the final number of physical items we need to produce. Most of the physical goodies such as statues, snowballs, and jewelry, are handcrafted by artists, so we need to be sure they have enough time to craft and deliver these items to become part of your tiers. This also concerns the backers who have physical tiers but haven’t finished their pledge transfer yet. After the 28th of February you will be able to complete your pledge transfer, but you won’t be able to add any additional physical items into your order. Meanwhile, look at some of the physical items which have been produced already!

We would also like to address those backers whose tiers include creating a piece of content for the game (Create a wondrous item, Design a monument, Design a familiar, Design an NPC, Design a quest). Please complete your pledge transfer and contact us either via Kickstarter messages or team@owlcatgames.com as soon as possible. To provide the desired quality of our game, we will have to stop adding new content soon, and if you don’t reach out to us until the end of January, your content won’t make it into the game. So please contact us, if you haven’t already, because we are really excited to put your content into our game!

Additionally, because the alpha stage has ended, we will remove the Alpha Early Access from our pre-order portal after the 25th of January.

If you didn’t get a personal link to transfer your Kickstarter pledge, or if it got lost to spam filters, please message team@owlcatgames.com from the email you used on Kickstarter to back our game, and we will send you the link to transfer your pledge.

If you didn’t back the game on Kickstarter, but would like to pre-order physical items, please create an account at https://wrath.owlcatgames.com/ Keep in mind, that physical add-ons are only available together with physical tiers!

And the final reminder: Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will enter the beta stage later this month. Those who are planning to participate in the beta and use special beta channels on our discord server or the special forum branch - you need to fill your discord name and forum name in your profile on https://wrath.owlcatgames.com/. To do that you need to log into your account, click on your email in the upper right corner of the screen, go into ‘Your Account’ section and save your forum and discord names under ‘Get a Forum Badge’ and ‘Get a Discord Role’ respectively, as it’s shown in the picture below.

I sure hope that statue is not the final product, because it looks like shit. Unless it's sold for like $15, which I doubt.
