On the legend path? Yes, it's about being mortal but there are other reasons for it. Narrative wise, it makes no sense in my opinion and it's basically a bad plot. I hope owlcat changes it somewhat.

Desiderius How do you rate Shaman in the first game? Your thoughts and feelings?

Shaman is a full caster so it can't NOT be strong, also it's incredibly flexible

Could you expand?

Shaman is a a prepared caster with access to the Cleric spell list (with some variations) and access to Spirits, which are somewhat alike Cleric domains. They grant you access to bonus spells AND hexes like a Witch would get. That's basically it.

Prepared spells + hexes allows you to build the Shaman towards virtually everything. CC spam, blaster, healer, off-tank with Iceplant, etc...

I mean, it's a 3/4 BAB divine class with armor and hexes. It's strong.

Cam's version is pretty great. Only thing she's missing is stuff like Shield of Faith, Archon's Aura, and anti-Demon stuff like Crusader's Edge. Guess more like a Druid who also gets things like Stinking Cloud with Weapon Enhancement like Paladin, Hexes, and Battle Spirit Stuff (additional spell/Hex options). Second Spirit Mythic ability will also be nuts.

Action economy should be mostly attacking since she has the Weapon Enhancement stuff, Medium Armor, high DEX, and Buckler, so you'll prefer Passive Hexes but Hampering Hex is so good. Can throw in some AoE CC but most casting will be buffing. This playthrough I took Secret Metamagic (Extend) for her second Hex to improve her Spirit spell options (Righteous Might doesn't do much for DEX-based).

If anything was ever right with POE is a system that allowed players to pick companion classes when you first recruit them.

P:K handled this well. Cam is a poor fit for a Companion you get at lvl one. Should be Wolj instead so you get one CHR, one WIS, and one INT that you can then take any direction you want like you could with the initial companions in P:K. Shamans are very bad multiclassers. Similar problem with Octavia tbh.

The themes are clearly very HOMM inspired. Slavs do love their HOMM, they even hamfisted it into an already massive RPG, that's true love right there.

My theme of choice will be:

That's the strange thing about the Aeon Path. It's based on the 2ed fluff (Law Keepers) but the story seems to be tailored to their 1ed iteration (Balance Keepers). Also, quite the irony that
Trickster is the one who will lose his individuality.

Well I'm not really interested in spoilers but I feel like it's a bit of a cliche? Like being a sad clown in a way. And also not being able to stop joking even if it goes against your interests. Did I guess it right?

The issue which doesn't have to be solved in the aforementioned manner is a bit more practical than your philosophizing.

BTW, Cam is your only source of Barkskins until Aru and your only full source in the game.

I’ll probably usually make Lann a Druid or have it from MC but if you don’t it’s a good thing to keep in mind.

Almost done with the Shield Maze and I have to say, while the game (for now) looks very similar to the Alpha version, a lot of stuff seems to be smoother. Perhaps a summer release isn't such an improbable idea, although August seems more likely than June.

I don't know if other people feel the same, but I was really happy with the performance in the market square in the beta.

I'll get back to you when I get there. Should take me a couple hours at most.

PS: I'm a VERY slow player.

Update: Hosilla's boss fight has no right being this difficult AND having a 2 minutes long unskippable cutscene before it. It's annoying design.
