This game is for over-the-top build porn. If you enjoy creating busted characters, you will have fun with this game. The plot and writing are adequate. There is cringe, but it's not an absolute barrier to having fun with the game. My biggest gripes were the companions, HoMM-lite, and 50-shades of purple color palette once you get past Act II. The game is definitely worth a play. I think it's a step down from Kingmaker, but many people enjoy the epic aspects and put it as a step up. In reality, it's more of the same, just turned up to 11. You should play it if you enjoy old-school, isometric, party-based CRPGs.Is this game worth playing if you have a low tolerance for millennial writing and such baggage? Might try it on Playstation
Through the ashes and lord of nothing DLCs are both extremely short side-stories with almost no relevance to the main campaign. While through the ashes indeed involves mostly very low level adventuring, it's a power fantasy none the less, except mostly for pet classes and shifters who don't need any tangible resources and get to flex their class kits. Enemies are finite, but the encounters are not particularly difficult or imaginative, mostly dealing with low-level critters and undead. The only really noteworthy enemies are the slime colossus that requires you to exploit its particular weakness to bludgeoning weapons and the final boss of the adventure who is just a generic demon enemy of a particular type, except now you have to fight it at a very low level while being undergeared (and you don't even have to beat it in order to win, IIRC). There are some opportunities for roleplaying and C&C, but as already stated: they have no meaningful consequences on your main campaign once you import the save, you just get to save a bunch of literally who characters, if you wish.I've just heard rumours about the unthinkable and almost had a stroke.
The Through The Ashes DLC would contain:
- A focus on low level play as opposed to a level 'em-up power fantasy
- Ressources being scarce, rather than magics, potions, weapon+1s sitting on the streets
- A finite set of enemies, rather than a Wrath Of The Copypasta Mobs
- Alternative paths around direct confrontation, even the environment being tuned for that
'tis true? If yes, WorthABuy™? I'm assuming the experiment failed their audience either way...

I'd rate its length at roughly six hours when you know exactly what characters to make and how to progress them and don't struggle with combat encounters. Compared to a full WotR campaign that can take 200 hours it is indeed extremely short.Well, that would actually be a plus for me. Because whilst I slogged through the last act of Kingmaker (successfully), WOTR I put down now... "Extremely short" apparently is still longer than some full releases (if you do everything). But then it's Owlcat, being on that mission to make games that in terms of length dwarf the entirety of the original BG trilogy combined. :D

monster tactician + greater enduring spells
their summon monster ability is a spell like ability, which from my memory fell under enduring spells
24 hour summons?, sounds fun if I get to an aeon playthrough that will probably be it
sidenote, I just realized the power of the primal druid, you get huge bro, and then you hop on your huge dinosaur mount using your hugeness, yea, it makes more sense now
you don't have to worry about casting them every battle, with all the feats and all the buffs possible summons are good, they aren't as good as party members but they can be quite good, especially if you have like 4 of them active for 24 hoursmonster tactician + greater enduring spells

Summons are disposable trash in WOTR, they are there mostly to draw aggro while your party kills the enemies. I am not sure making them 24 hours is that special.
Its a LARP kit if you want to larp as HellknightWtf is even the armiger kit? You get to pick an order that doesn't work, get to treat knowledge (world) as a class skill when that's already the case for the fighter, get 1 extra skill point per level and lose two feats for it
Impressive ultimate enhanced re-edition patch version 8720198.92018===D you have there.
With all the DLCs, you can buy more than enough bones. I have over 150 bones in chapter 5 and I cast legendary proportions on 3 characters each rest.so animal growth doesn't actually grow animals that have already had a natural growth at level 7, so a primal druid can't enlarge person to get the buffs, then animal growth their animal, that's weak, apparently you need legendary proportions which is gated behind bones, kinda gay, maybe toybox or dark codex fixes this?
so never?With all the DLCs

Unfair Deskari can hit for over 1.5k damage. Does that answer your question?so can a stonelord tank with DR?
