Maybe your definition of problematic is different. Clearly I am not the only person who has noticed the overtuned encounters, they happen even on Standard. You beat every fight in the Gray Garrison on your first try? Gargoyles during the Regill quest? You had no issues with those? I don't believe it.

I wouldn't necessarily call an encounter that whooped your ass on the first try overtuned.

I do think the Gargoyle encounter was shitty, because spawning enemies from multiple angles combined with wonky AI and hitbox collision feels kinda eh in a game that expects you to have a frontline and a backline.

Call me retarded but I spent over a dozen tries on some of those fights, even knowing what I was about to go into. Used scrolls of stinking cloud and summons during the Jeslyn fight and STILL had to rely on luck to get through.

And no, this isn't my first rodeo. I know exactly how Owlcat design their encounters from Kingmaker.

Surprised how many people are complaining about enemies spawning behind them. This is happening regularly in IWD/2, if you had played it.

Oh, I don't mind enemies coming from unexpected angles. It's just that specific encounter has so little space to manoeuvrer, keeping the Gargoyls off my backside through the weird AI aggro switching was a pain.

I expected Owlcat to have had implemented some kind of attack animation like the big jumping in PoE/Deadfire, where the Gargoyles actually grab you, fly up, and then slam you on the ground.

I think this is one of the plusses to WOTR. Forces you to have 2 tanky characters. 1 at the front. 1 at the back. Like a real adventuring party should.
