So this already released? Is it better than the previous one?

Most people seems to like Wrath more than Kingmaker, but I honestly prefer Kingmaker.

I haven't talked much about this lately because I'm a complete altaholic and have been spending a ton of time generating characters of various stripes, running them through the prologue and possibly Act I and then doing it again. For... way too much time.

The additional races, classes, feats, spells, etc. make the character building more compelling when Kingmaker was already fantastic in this regard.

I basically haven't progressed very far because I keep fanboying out and wanting to try something new or tweak what I've been doing in some manner. It was the same deal for me with Kingmaker when that released. I had logged something like 150 hours with the game before I started my first real playthrough and as I recall, that wasn't the one that I actually played the entire game on. Wrath is following a very similar pattern for me.

It's also interesting that at least a few times, I have come across missing class features, bug report it, try the class again a week or two later and then see that the bug was fixed. Not saying it was a result of my report personally, but just that they are working on it and that there are so many classes and features, it's not completely surprising that some things got missed. For example, warpriest's sacred weapon is supposed to cover both the deity's favoured weapon as well as weapons that you have weapon focus in. Earlier it was only covering weapons that you had focus in. Last night, I was messing with a warpriest and sacred weapon covered the deity's favoured weapon too. (I expect that this was also why the shield damage scaling wasn't working on the shieldbearer subclass. It's probably worth checking out again if you're curious.)

Anyway, so far, in terms of base class mechanics and such, I like it more than Kingmaker. I have no idea regarding Mythic Paths or other subsystems because I keep restarting, but there's been a lot of discussion on it here.

In the questline to become a legend you have to fight several encounters with a bunch of pseudoshadows (not real undead) with insane stats. In the last fight, there is a caster spamming disintegration rays and tsunami. managed to kill after a million tries by dispelling, which managed to stun him, and then I could finally hit it. Goddamit owlcat and their bullshit idea of "difficulty".

So pozzed gaymes with shitty wirting are now good on this RETARTED site? You faggots should play Mass deffect andromeda you will love it.
Sniveling snobbery. Turn-based RPGs warrant attention. Besides, you can't romance a scatubus in Andromeda.

Despite what fanoys and shills might try to claim, it's not as good as Kingmaker, the writing is much more sloppy and isn't as tightly written or edited, the dialogue is more cringy and characters are worse. The dialogue also sounds more modern which is pretty off-putting.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth

Depends what you prefer. Story/writing is arguably worse than KM overall.

Character building/build porn options are much more expansive.

I imagine for a combatfag Wrath is the superior game. For Storyfags it's probably KM.

Second run through Chapter 4, surprised how much stuff I missed by not making liberal use of Dimension Door the last time around.

Anyone figure out what the deal with the "Demodand Conspiracy" is?
I found a place in Act 3
that you can only reach with DD and it releases a Greater Shadow when you try to loot items there.

where is it?

Accidentally killed the dragon in chapter 3 with a 32 DC phantasmal killer on one of her ambushes, didn't really think it would work since she has a high fortitude save and I hadn't even had Ember suppress her saves yet. Got the xp but her body just disappeared so I was worried I broke the quest so I moved to Grimwood and she ambushed me again, death left her no worse for wear. Terendelev eat your heart out.

Owlcat is really impressive, even their bugs serve functionality.

What about battlemages? Like Transmuter Wizard 20/Fighter 20. That would be good?
Depends on what you actually want to do with your character.

As I said Legend is fairly good for martials, i.e. hitting things with a big stick.

Actually casting spells, meh. Angel gets spells that do a bazillion points of divine damage with no save. Try competing with that

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign
If you listen to an only competent person in your counsil, you start in position where you could skip all door bashing sequences.
Doesn't even have to be Regill, no matter where you start, theres plenty of acrobatics/mobility and perception based checks that allow you get behind enemy lines and open gates without having to worry about breaking them down.

If you want a caster I'm not sure what to recommend really. Legend is more for martials, because the things that improve over 40 levels rather than 20 levels benefit martials and gishes especially more than casters.

Casters are much better served opting into one of the OP spellbook-merging paths like Angel or Lich.

Right now I am crafting a Legend martial build, it's gone through quite a few revisions
Thanks for the answer, I guess imma either go martial/gish or just suffer as caster then, because despite mythic being "cool and shit" I don't feel comfortably with the way powers (according spoilers from codex thread) essentially forced on mc. At least for now.
Well if it helps I just finished my Legend build, it's on my Kingmaker page at the bottom, Appendix III.
  • 96 AC, +64 Attack Bonus, add +10 to both of those when you use Smite on an evil boss.
  • 550 damage crits on 11-20 rolls.
  • 6APR (but I don't know where that ring is yet)
  • 50/40/50 saves roughly
  • Immunity to crits and a ton of other stuff
  • Able to throw down a shitload of healing
  • Very self-sufficient
  • Vulnerable to dispels though
  • Quite playable pre-Legend... I think.
Edit: sorry 74 was with Smite not without

Turn based game :lol::lol: Try doing every trash combat encounter in this game with turn based mode you faggot.

Several people here, including myself, played Kingmaker from start to finish entirely in turn based mode and it is a far longer game. Just because you lack the mental fortitude to focus without something shiny to attract your ADHD riddled mind doesn't mean you should project your issues and sexual confusion onto others.

There were more of these in the beta but they removed them and added alternative paths.

Lots of them in A4 still though.

How do I actually unlock different new troops to recruit? I've built the pre-requisite archery range and barracks. Those say I can recruit many new units but nothing appears in the recruiting screen apart the very basic 2 units that have been there from the start.

Need to upgrade military and advance your mythic path.

Oh, ok, thanks. Though I have mythic lvl 4 or 5 I think and Military II at least. Is it only that? Raising these values and the units will appear?

There is a perception check that shows up an athletic check to go on top there, I think you faied it. So no need for DD.

No, should be events in the throne room. For military you get to choose what you want, mythic you mostly get stuff.

Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
For me Wrath's writing is one hell of the mixed bag.
Storywise, I would rate Kingmaker's ch1 >> Wrath's ch1, since it falls on the face right from the ugly cut-scene, where everyone dying but I could not care less. And it would do game a world of good, IMHO, if they'd started events couple of days earlier, introduced all important actors (through Desnans/Inquisitors conflict for example) and only then did the whole demon attack thing. Because right now it still reeks of beta, like if they wanted to add some content to the Festival Square & Mongrel Village but never got to it.

And there is more issues than a weird plotting and the lack of PCs agenda - all interactions in Defenders Heart are a way too wordy and tend to repeat same things ad naseum, starting companion roster is meh, and the mood is all over the place (that Nenio introduction scene!). Honestly, Camelia and Nenio alone are so cringy that their presence is like a constant -2 to writing quality, Seelah is bland and Lann's first dialogue tree is filled with whining. At least Ember and Daeran are on the better side of the companion spectrum but their first scenes are crippled by the bad VA.
Well, Kingmaker's roster started with Amiri and Linzi (optional) and those two... required a long time to warm up to. But the the atmosphere is good - true and real DnD adventuring.

But at the same time Wrath's ch2 > anything in Kingmaker. And I would dare to say that pieces of the main story sequence
Swarm, Regill recruitment, White Chapel and Drezen
all range from the good to great in their quality.
And now I am around chapter 3 (when I am not restarting), and what I have seen there
Wintersun, Areelu's lab, kingdom counsils
are pretty nice too, especially unique content from the all Mythic paths, when each of them comes with it own cast of supporting characters.
