When I rest within Midnight Fane dungeon corruption does not seem to increase. Is this a bug or it is supposed to work like this? If so why they inserted some relics to reduce corruption in the dungeon?

Here is another Witch question - is it worth it using the Ley Line Guardian archetype and sacrificing the ability to learn spells from scrolls, but getting Conduit Surge instead?

Hotfix 1.0.7e
Crusaders!

Hotfix 1.0.7e is live!

It addresses the following issues:

  • Phantom level 0 classes no longer appear in your spellbook.
  • Game no longer crashes when entering and exiting buildings in Act IV
Yesterday I lost all my belt Items on MC, lost a few unique metarods and haste wand lol. Since everything but wand was out of charges I noticed it like hour into the dudgeon. Toybox for the rescue!

It looks like the whole feature of the subclass is metamagic feat with uge drawbacks.

i had 2 sneaky downloads yesterday after the patch. it was magical.
To be fair, it took them only 4 hours to find and fix the problem, then compile, pack, and deploy the hotfix. Or hotfixes.

I found two big penalties with keeping Undead companions as tanks. One is that once they die I got no spells to raise them lol. Maybe Resurrect will work but my divine casters don't have that yet. Other is that you cannot make them bigger with good spells. Unfortunately unlike your one undead companion in PKM, these ones are not immune to dying...
but for now at least morale bonuses work on undead companions even if they should not. Undead are supposed to be immune to both positive and negative morale effects but game lets you give them bonuses with Bless and Heroism.
They resurrect on their own after rest and you have lots of powerful healing abilities to keep them from dying.

Undead Staunton resurrects himself? None of those healing abilities work when they drop to -30..

(what the hell was that tentacle random encounter btw...).
Callback to the Jubilost's Inconsequent Debates companion quest from Kingmaker. One of the best companion quests there, imho.

And it is funny if you still remember context.
Man I haven't played kingmaker in a while. I need to refresh my memory, maybe after I play wrath 3 times.

Ok, that is slightly better but since I carry one Raise Dead to resurrect living companions to make it all faster, for most battles it will faster to just redo the battle than rest in middle of dungeon and recast all buffs. Hopefully Resurrect works on dead Undead companions.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
Playing this way I hit lvl 11 in the Drezen.

Still, it is huge difference for ch1-2, but with the level gaps in Pathfinder xp table for levels above 10, 50-70k xp I hoarded early barely give me 1 lvl advantage starting from the ch3.
If you add companions according to alignment, in almost every case you end up with a 5-man party. Sometimes even less. The game itself is, apparently, built around the idea that up to Chapter 3 you're not supposed to have a full team. So you get to 10 easy by Stanton. After that, it's a whole different story.

Tinkering with builds does pay off! Finally managed to get over 1k per spell cast! Costs a 9th level spell slot and a use of a Maximise rod.

The AoE version of this spell loses either Empower or Bolster, but still deals ~800 damage to each target.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
Quick question, and it's really more of a rhetorical one:

Why won't Helrun step in and help me fight the vrock which is standing only about 50 feet from him and his two goons? I lead the thing back towards him hoping we can outnumber it and bring it down but he just stands there like an asshole while the vrock easily wipes out my entire party.

Please tag me with any replies, thanks.

He is watching over the hole in the ground, no time for that kind of shit.

That first defense of the Old Folks Home where you have to target the arsonist cultists was ridiculous.

Some slight spoilers ahead:

Once the fight starts, the tutorial puts you into turn-based mode automatically, but I figured a fight this long would take even longer that way so I immediately just switched it back to RTwP. Yeah, whatever.

Hilariously, the main forces with that orc chick behind you when you start out never budged. Not sure if that's intentional or not, but she didn't even bark out any orders or do anything at all during the entire fight afaict.

Having spec'd my Spell Master already for Enchantment specialization, along with the tiefling dude and the autistic girl + Kamallia Harris, I felt I was ready for an onslaught of humans and humanoids. And, I did quite well, for about the first HOUR AND A HALF. Holy shit this fight dragged on forever. Then, rather predictably, the minotaur demon and his pals break through the back entrance, but by then I was basically out of spells and hanging on for dear life. Still had I think ten out of the twelve structures intact by that point, but things were beginning to look dire.

So I just ran.

I got behind the mute orc bitch and poured every last bit of ranged munitions I had at that minotaur thing (which has p. good DR) while he was busy slaughtering the hapless troops in front of him, trying to get to me. All the other allied forces on the rooftops were gone. The enemy also continued to stream in through the already blown barricades (and my Entagle and Pit spells were expired by then) so it really was looking grim.

That's when more arsonists show up. And one by one the structures burned to the ground while I was still pincushioning that bull head bastard. But he finally fell, and I was able to start picking off the ground troops next to him. Problem was that now the arsonists are free to lob their alchemists' fires freely, so, with two structures left intact, I got desperate. I simply charged past the remaining shock troops the best I could, firing missiles frantically, trying to pick off the remaining arsonists. It didn't go well. Two of us dropped, and I just knew I had just spent the last TWO HOURS on a fight I'd have to re-do from the beginning.

But, guess what? For some weird reason, even though there were still at least ten or so enemies left and zero structures left "alive", I got a cut scene and suddenly I'm back in the tavern with the mute orc finally deciding to speak up, telling me we won! What the fuck?

I didn't care. No way I was going to re-do that entire fight. That would probably have been another House at the End of Fuck You moment for me.

Sorry for the TL;DR. Reply with a tag if you even care.

Crispy, the tavern fight can be a bitch if you go in unprepared or even just a bit underleveled. I did it with a level 5 party and it was a joke: the arsonists never damaged anything and the minotaur went down in a single round. IIRC, Thac0 did it at level 3 and it was a painful experience. Having Lann in the party really helps, since he can deal with everything everywhere without moving, but a couple uses of Haste are enough to end the whole thing quickly without any major problem (especially if you have Seelah with a horse).

that minotaur thing (which has p. good DR)
Keep in mind that the Paladin's Smite Evil automatically bypasses any kind of DR. Seelah with Power Attack should be able to take down that thing in a couple of rounds. Did you waste your Smite Evil previously during the fight?

Two of us dropped, and I just knew I had just spent the last TWO HOURS on a fight I'd have to re-do from the beginning.
I did that fight in TB mode and it didn't last nearly as long. Can't remember the exact duration, but it was probably around half-an-hour. Definitely less than an hour. I'm starting to think that the game might have bugged out, because everyone is reporting far longer times.

A few things, Crispy:

I don't recall this ever happening to me. Are you sure you didn't accidentally hit the T key? (Shortcut for TB/RTWP toggle.)

And, I did quite well, for about the first HOUR AND A HALF.

:what:

I uh... what the hell were you doing? I mean, I guess I could theoretically see how it's possible the fight could take time like that, but I hope that you're just being over the top with your exaggeration here or else you should go back to remedial RPG school.

That's when more arsonists show up. And one by one the structures burned to the ground

Either you're completely terrible at these games or you're playing on a custom difficulty that started with unfair and then cranked the levels up as far as they would go so it's some unfair + monstrosity difficulty. Or you're making stuff up, I don't know, but it's not all that hard to come out of that fight with no structures being destroyed.

Having done this shit at level 3 it was the worst and most unfun fight of the game of me. It coloured a lot of my early negative impressions of this game.
The fight triggered for me before I had the chance to level up Nenio even once, and teach her grease or even any spells which are not her garbage starting spells. In hindsight I should have purchased scrolls and teached her that way, but i was too tilted to think of that.
On Core level 3 winning that with even a single structure left alive without Grease is borderline impossible.
Killing the minotaur is fairly easy as you can cheese him into the militia rows, but after that so much trash is spammed at you from all gates, that your dps is just not enough to get through the rows of fodder and kill the arsonists in time.
Obviously doing this at level 5 with haste and higher BaB for 3 attacks per turn as opposed to 1 makes it a stomp.
They really should have hardcoded this to trigger at level 4 or so, it triggers on your fourth rest in the inn I believe? Which can be at wildly different levels.
