The good news: Owlcat have agreed to another Codex fundraiser. The ball is in DarkUnderlord's court.

The bad (well, not that bad) news: There will be no PayPal funding option during the Kickstarter campaign, only afterwards on Owlcat's website.

complete version of the game including DLC.
So you want them to promise to make additional content even if the game flops and they don't have money; or not to make additional content even if the game brings tons of money.
You mean like they did for the first game?

edit: Whelp I guess it was deadfire you could get the complete edition.

I know it's standard practice to expect a developer to put up a "season pass" for DLC that might never materialize before games are even fucking released nowadays but have we reached the point where we're so used to it that people are now past eye-rolling acceptance and on to eagerly asking for it?

No. It's just Owlcat tried so far to do things well, and their DLCs for P:K were OK, so it's more of "we want more content from Owlcat" rather than "we blindly accept season passes as standard now".

Not many developers get away with this, trust me.

At least as far as the Codex goes.

If players cannot keep their purses shut, wait for actual content to materialize, and prefer to just throw money at developers (or "content creators", or self-improvement gurus, or Kirby salesmen) then it's a crime not to exploit such opportunity.

If they really are on track to get over a million bux with this kickstarter I hope they use it well. Kingmaker took me over 160 hours to slog through. Pacing was its biggest issue, and just having way too much stuff to do. I'm a completionist, I like checking off boxes and exploring everything, but goddamn, that game broke me. By the end I just wanted to get on with the story.

So that's something I really hope they fix, because I still loved everything about the story bits when I was experiencing it, and I think the kingdom management was great even if it was paced terribly, it's the first RPG where your character is a ruler where I've actually felt like I was ruling something.

Instead of a million small and medium sized wilderness areas, how about an evil path through the game that doesn't make you feel like you're actively gimping yourself? That's something I'd like to see. Because for evil playthroughs it's always either take hits on good alignment for every companion quest since almost all companions are good, or just accept that they're going to leave you or in Kingmaker's case
die just before the boss of the game/chapter 7

Fairfax and I did some digging into the adventure path, and it gets really weird halfway through.
I thought Wrath of the Righteous was just a less sexual adventure path. There are a couple of potential waifus and husbandos, but the whole thing seemed fairly chaste and even the succubi were mainly using trickery and disguises instead of trying to seduce the party
Then Midnight Isles came out and I realized they were just saving it up for that book.

>Lamia Matriarch keeping captured characters as mind controlled "pets"
>Incubus gladiator who's favourite technique is biting off and eating opponents' penises
>Nocticula, Demon Lord of Succubi, offers you a boon of your choice, including hot sex
>Sexy naked woman made of animated poop offers to join the party and tries to flirt with them
>Succubus noblewoman with snakegirl painslut fuck slaves literally invites you into her magical realm

All verified through other sites. I hope most of this gets included as is. :) I doubt there will be too much controversy since these elements won't show up until 40+ hours in, well after most people stop playing.
Although an omox demon, a creature made of living filth and excrement, the Fulsome Queen does her best to shape her form into one she imagines will be pleasing to her visitors in a misguided attempt to set them at ease. Her form is that of a partially solid succubus made of sludge and foul-smelling seepage. Likewise, her manner in speaking to the PCs is overwhelmingly complimentary and flattering, almost sycophantic in its fawning excess.
Give me a literal poop wife!

Octavia was fine. A lot of her annoying part is implied to be coping mechanism for you know, being sold as slave since she was a kid. The same with Rengogar.

The only insuffereble companion is probably Amiri due to her classic muh feminist character arc and theme with the tribe. Even then it shows that she fucked up real big anyway and her character arc is about unfucking the mess she did for her tribe if only to save her friend.

Linzi was posed as annoying "just graduated from journalistic major" kind of vibe but her quest has her grows up as well. Depending on your choice I guess.

Heck its the main theme for all companions in Kingmaker. All of them are annoying in one way or another. The key is they grow from their experience through the quest and making them a bit more mature by the end, which results in them surviving the final dungeon. Chosing options thats feeds to their inner demon will results in their death or betrayal with 2 exceptions.

This is why I was worried that the dev said that all companion has a set world view. I think the growing as a person was a nice touch in Kingmaker.

so if I'm reading this shit right you dont have to be a spellcaster build to have fun with the Lich, you could theorically make a Two-Handed Fighter who loves scythes and really wants to LARP as the grim reaper and go with the Lich path huh?
