You do know what sort of implications Heroes of the Storm gives, right? (I heard they were going to release a map editor for it as well)

They are going to get tons of extremely valuable insightful feedback and data towards creating exciting units, new innovative RTS elements, level design and so on and forth. And, regardless, Heroes of the Storm is a really good game, it's better than League of Legends and DotA by A LOT. Sure, they talk about how they wanted to make it more "casual" and more friendly to new players of the MOBA genre, but I'm pretty sure they're up to something. Something mischievous! :P

World of WarCraft will either be transported to its own parallel universe (retconned) or Blizzard will use the lore (and probably some notable Player happenings/events) from what has transpired in World of Warcraft to create a massive WarCraft IV campaign.

Heck, they might make a World of WarCraft expansion that sucks the World of WarCraft into a paradoxal portal that splits time into two, and then they have freedom to pursue an ultimate and powerful next installment of the RTS series.

Whichever they choose do, I'm certain that WarCraft IV will be amazing. Just like all their other RTS games (imo, I realize I have no idea what the Codex feels about StarCraft II's campaign/story/gameplay). They just need to strategically unshackle themselves from the bindings of the MMO crowd.

Also Night of the Raven, Mask of the Betrayer, Hordes of Underdark and Heart of Winter are a lot better expansions then TOB. Calling TOB BG3 is plain stupid.

ToB is the OG of crappy expansions. I've never met someone who's praised it until now. It's a linear, funneling, uninteresting romp.

In HotU Undermountain was OK but the Underdark part was unbelievably boring and retarded. I quit it somewhere around the halfway mark IIRC. And HoW, pretty much like IWD itself, consisted of linear dungeon crawl and nothing else. It was good enough but not nearly as epic as ToB.

You've got to love the villain of Throne of Bhaal, though. It turns out it was Mellisan all along!

Are you serious?? If you are please explain what was so "EPIC" about it?? All I liked about it was the Watchers tower (accessible in SOA, and the end of the game when they said what happened to your companions after the game). Also once again saying that TOB is a BG3 is just silly.

And she seemed such a nice person. When I learned that she was a manipulative priestess of Bhall it broke my heart!

Well, battles were definitely epic. I liked the story as well but here I'm probably in minority. And I didn't say it was BG3, just a very good expansion.

Some of the areas were alright. I liked Sendai's Enclave, and the Bhaal Temple place was pretty cool atmosphere wise. I also liked the hells trials. Sarevok was a cool NPC.

Roguey, can you remember what Jsawyer said about this? Iirc he mentionned it will be bigger than a FO:NV DLC but smaller than MotB?
He never mentions anything about size before release.

From the way he described it, it's a Heart of Winter-style expansion that has to be completed within the base game.

Brilliant stuff. I was wondering half way in that video if it would include BG2 style buttons or not and now i'm truly excited. Request that you modify the save menu button to a floppy disk :bounce:

I'm not going to go into that how long to make UI saga again, all I know is that Bester knows his shit and I don't.

I wonder if any of the Obsidian devs will respond to the implication you made at the end of that video. :M

Well you argued in good faith.

As I mentioned in the other thread making something or changing something as a modder is a whole different thing as changing it as a dev due to all the development overhead.
Even a small change means the involvement of multiple people at some point. Not to mention the management of development resources so one little thing can take days.

This helps to not mess things up when making a whole game, but its a bitch to deal with for a small change/addition.

Of course, that's at least what I imagine it to be. Anthony Davis would know more/better.

Looks really cool, but I liked the versions made by the guys in that dedicated thread here much better. Right now it's just some stretched textures over the U Shape :/

That would be considerably harder to implement, since it doesn't make use of any of the existing assets.

Yeah, Bester and Grotesque should work together to implement the UI Grotesque made.

How can two people work together when one thinks the other's work is shit? :)

Anyway, I started doing this mockup to serve as an inspiration for others.
If it doesn't make it into the game, at least I learned to use Photoshop as I never used it until now.

EDIT: for anyone interested, the latest iteration
