Funny that you say that, considering there's a large number of people on this forum who worry that PoE is TOO active.

^Maybe they're talking about micromanagement? Yes, things can feel hectic because you have to control the party members individually and make copious use of the pause button especially against tough opponents like those beetles. But that still doesn't take away from the fact that you're interacting with just passive skills, and passive feats. How about a feat that blows enemies back? A spell that causes the ground to turn into quicksand, and then leave enemies stuck so they can become pincushions for your archers? Shapeshifting that grants entirely new abilities to your character, which disappear when he returns to his original form? Granted, I've only played for about 40 minutes, but the first impression is what counts no matter how brief.

What class?

Strap Yourselves In Pathfinder: Wrath
Been playing priest, there are a lot of different spell buffs to soak in. Going to try Cipher next.

Also, I have been playing on normal and there are far more spiders/bugger spiders than I saw in the gamescon demo. I got lured into a false sense of security.

My only two issues thus far have been awkward running at the opponent instead of auto-attacking from what I see, and my mage not having a grimorie/spells to cast. The last bit is probably on me for moving too quickly to notice.

edit: On Ciper playthrough, my mage now has spells, which should make things a lot easier.

That's what sneak looks like(at least for now); you can kinda make out the gray circles around the player party. Some *missing string* entries for an item at the shop and the "Did you Know" on the loading screen. All-in-all, Obsidian-y :D

My guy is headless.

No, they're talking about using active abilities.

As Duraframe suggested, you might be playing the wrong class, or you've picked the wrong talents for your class.

Only thing I don't like so far is that combat is a tad chaotic and confusing in the sense that I don't really see what's happening. Other than that, greatly pleased. Feels like Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment.

Codex 2012 Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Who do I have to kill to get the spells I gained on level up to appear in the quick selection menu?

Also - why is party formation fucked?

It's beta. Rather early beta from the looks of it.

Please remember to write these issues up and post them in the forums. You are not getting a polished game experience yet. Many of the most glaring of these bugs have probably already been fixed, but go ahead and mention them anyway.

Also important, what is not fun, not balanced, overly confusing, etc. Write those up and post them too.

Playing a beta is not for everyone, I had to stop playing WL2 for example, so for those who have the fortitude, thank you in advance, the help is much appreciated.

I won't be doing my Let's Play this early in the beta as it's just too buggy

OTOH though, how is this for video quality:

Frame rates aren't an accurate indicator of a memory leak. You may not have been getting an accurate frame rate to begin with.

Try this instead please:

Bring up Task Manager, leave it up.
Run PoE. Get in game. Make a note of the memory usage in Task Manager for PoE. (If you have a second monitor, putting the Task Manager on that second monitor can help a lot).
Wait for a period of time without doing anything in game.
Check the memory usage again in Task Manager and compare it to what it was before.

If the memory is substantially higher the second time, there may be a leak.

Balance is difficult to tell, at least initially. Is the beginning area meant for level 1, or level 5? Beta starts w/ xp for level 5, but I'd say it's a level 1 area, as combat is way too easy on hard difficulty.

It would also be nice to start solo and add the generic party-filler members from the inn or something.

Still waiting for Volly to post to this thread. Hey Volly, I'm still looking for a beta badge if you're looking to give it away ;)

Some of my BB crew's gear vanished before I left the town; unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure when. I built the same exact character and tried to replicate it by sneaking around and using quicksave but to no avail. I will be playing a monk on the next run

Stuff that disappeared:
BB Rogue's Fine hatchett
BB Priest's Fine Morning Star and Fine War hammer
BB Wizard's Fine Sword, Fine Rod and Grimwah

No grimoire=no spells come to find out

Edit
Entering the Church takes out the hatchett, hammer and sword on a subsequent play-through.
