You have to admit regardless of what we think of this game given recent events, partnering with the CR crew was an ingenious marketing strategy that will ensure a decent amount of sales..

The top 2 streams on Twitch a few minutes ago were sponsored--by whom on the 1000+ viewer stream I'm not sure, but the smaller one said it was sponsored by Versus Evil in the title.

I'm not mad about bugs because whoever buys it first day deserves to be the betatester for Obsidian.

I'm more curious if the game drowns you in useless lore as the first one, that was totally unbearable. Also I would prefere if they finally got a subtle approach when it comes to descriptions, the "show, don't tell" that so many AAA games seems to lack these days.

I think that system is for skill checks in regular dialogue, not scripted interactions.

I doubt the all time peak is merged. If Pillars 2 starts climbing after day one it will be first.Niche games all have their peak day 1.
As fortune would have it, the numbers are preserved here https://steamdb.info/app/291650/graphs/

As you can see, Sunday wast the biggest day, not release.

I see, was proven wrong. Still the point was that the numbers are half of the pillars 1, so they need to almost triple the players on weekend to even make it on the same level as first game.

Shocking discovery: the game is playable on an Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics chip on my laptop and is running significantly faster than PoE1.

I tried to play the Beta on my toaster with Intel HD 4000 and it was a 3 FPS nightmare even in the menu.
They must have optimized the shit out of that game in the last weeks.

I was going to put it off until I get a proper gaming PC, but maybe it's worth try, after all. Now I just have to find a way to free 40GB of space on my HD :negative:

I will wait a few months until it is worth pirating (unless 'Dex review trashes it). In the meantime I am playing real PoE (Path of Exile)

EDIT: I will pirate your daughters and wives. Arrrrrr!

I expected the numbers to be worse. The first game had ridiculous hype as people hadn’t lost faith in the Kickstarter craze yet. IIRC could see from the crowdfunding that regular folks poured in less money than the first and the difference was made up by Fig investors.

Personally, I hope this does well regardless of Avellone’s revelations, because I want isometric RPGs to continue being made.

As expected, the voiced dialogs are impossible to listen to. Most of all, it's being read extremely slowly. Even the intro text is simply impossible to sit through and I'm not sure it's even possible to skip it. Disabled all voices in audio settings...

Obsidian is finished and good riddance.

I thought ur stance was that Obshitian is the best company ever from the virtue of JES being employed there?

What happened?

PS: Poo for Eternity Dumpster Fart is a horrible abomination of bugs, dull writing and inanity. And I hope Obsidian goes bankrupt soon with FagAss CuckHard being enriched by the diversity in prison.

EDIT:
Infinitron You are a shameless cocksucking whore. So you returned to rating posts, which are critical of Obshitian iNXile Larian etc, to shit after the passive-aggressive creative rating. When will you go back to retarded ratings?

I'm running it on a Thinkpad X230 with i5 3320m and 8 gigs of RAM. It's playable - about 30+ fps in some areas, drops to maybe a bit below 25 during the initial combat encounters. Might do some more thorough benchmarks later today. Playing it makes my laptop extremely hot, though, so I don't know if it's healthy to play this for several hours straight :|

edit - also running it on an SSD and the loading times aren't exactly quick, so I bet installing on an HDD would result in similarly painful loading times like in PoE1...

Hmm, I have an old Lenovo Yoga with 8GB Ram and i7(2,5GHz) so in theory it should work. I already have heat problems though, especially with unity games (Dragonfall), so I'll probably wont't risk frying that thing.
It's probably better to wait for the :balance: patches anyway.

That is my plan, game should be ready to play in few years. I need to play new Expeditions first, hopefully that one is fully patched by now.

Midgame expansion = Game not complete at launch.

Will be interesting to see whether game news sites' reviews still hold sway with Joe Commonman. After TTON there were a lot of signs that their audience is mostly industry insiders and super-fans these days, and the mainstream audience gets their opinion from the vibe = steam reviews and youtubers.

Ah, all 10,9 and 8, just as I predicted. And, again, there is more words like "Baldur", Baldur's Gate" and "BG" than "Pillars" or "PoE". In fact, all this notes goes to old Bioware game, not to Obsidian. Mysterious power of sentiment...
