All things being equal, why ask for "sequel DLC" instead of a full-blown sequel? Seems to me that stuff like ToB or MotB is just a fallback option when you know you're not going to get to make a BG3 or an NWN3.

I agree the dividing line between the two is a bit hazy, but I think the differences in a full-blown sequel (increased scope, increased costs, time and execution risk, sometimes changes to systems or even engines) means that it's more likely to get cancelled or provide a different sort of experience. Sometimes you just want the game to continue on its current track without waiting for years or a different designer to get the lead.

I bet at the time nobody dreamed that a BG3 wouldn't be made, but it was quick to churn out TOB using mostly the same assets and systems. Even if BG3 had been made it seems it may have felt quite different and followed a different narrative (for better or worse, who knows). I'm pretty glad we got TOB and MOTB given what happened to the genre afterwards.

incorrect. TOB *was* bg3 then got scaled down.

The monster design and area design are none of the game's problems so I can't get the information from that shit twitch stream that I'd actually like. They could have gone all in and made a nice story, lots of the drawing skill checks, memorable encounters and unique loot and it wouldn't have showed up in the video.

BUT I SERIOUSLY FUCKING DOUBT THAT AS LONG AS THERE'S IRENAEUSUS TO BUY 20.000 COPIES IN CASE THE GAME DOESN'T SELL WELL ENOUGH SO THAT THEY NEVER EVER HAVE TO CHANGE A THING

I'm very easy to please in some areas. If Sawyer ordered me 3 hookers to constantly keep blowing me during my PoE playthrough, I'd rate it 11/10 GOTY.

They can still make the sequel or DLC good, SR:DF managed that but I think it was because they had some humility which Sawyer doesn't have. He doesn't seem to be excited about his game in a way a player would be, he's excited about some numbers that mean nothing.

Did you seen my father, a middle aged ice bettle?

Yeah, that sounds like PoE dialogue.
Close but not quite true,a PoE dialogue will be like this or close at least.

You see a dark figure from afar, you get closer and you see him picking his nose and after he finish, he eats the booger, you seem disgusted by this man but you need further information to find your dad ''the ice bettle'' so you start questioning him ''Have you seen my dad,the ice bettle ?'' The man seems to pay no attention to you,he keeps fingering his nose in hope of finding more boogers to devour.

You see,you need a lot of descriptive text to truly represent PoE dialogue.

Except for your shitty prose and horrible dialogue, yeah, reads the same.

Story sounds shit. Basically just "here's another quest not really related to anything." I wanted something exploring the fallout concerning the gods post game. Oh well.

Josh gave his reasons for why it's not a post-endgame xpack at SA: only people who finished the game would play it, and that's a small number.

If people didn't bother finishing the game they probably aren't going to buy/play DLC anyway.

Real reason: it's way harder to write end game content that carries the story on than it is to just add a quest about ridding X location from Y curse.

That sounds like a sequel rather than a expansion pack.

Actually they do/would. More people bought New Vegas DLC than completed New Vegas, achievements show this. It's especially true for things like Day-1 DLC.

Strap Yourselves In Pathfinder: Wrath
Petting the fox is canon.

I didn't know that was big enough to warrant a picture on the companion commentary with Eder/Sagani.
