Hope those won't be lawful stupid paladins as paladins tend to be.

But what if the funding goal is reached but Zeits *doesn't* want to get on board? They will be forced to enslave him, or perhaps resort to mind-control.

r00fles indeed, good sir. I'm glad to hear Ziets is probably joining, as MotB was pretty goddamn fantastic in spite of being tethered to the troublesome NWN2 engine. 2.8m seems pretty likely, given the normal bump at the end of a Kickstarter.

Don't miss the update on Thursday - Josh will be talking lore, and our first screenshot will be revealed. Everyone at the studio is really excited to show you what we've been working on.

This soon? =/

WTF is Ziets doing for work, that they can publically advertise "maybe" hiring him back on? How do you even put in notice for such a situation: "hey, if my old bosses raise the funds, I'm outta here... if not, no hard feelings, yeah?"

Anyway, excited for him and hoping they bring him back on (for good.)
Pretty obvious he was going to be back regardless and this is just trying to raise money.
Quite obviously, I have absolutely no problem with this.

INCIDENTALLY, the last people I crowd-funded rewarded me with a beautiful hand-crafted song, a free day of stippers, and the back of my head in "the shot" of the film, so fuckin' hell, boys: you'd best pull this off.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Yes they commissioned the work to JarlFrank and you can already catch a preview of the preview elsewhere on the 'Dex.

Steamy romance confirmed:

GEORGE MOTHERFUCKING ZIETS!

Kinda suspicious how this update takes in all the stuff you and some others here have been asking about...
Obsidian can't even think of their own stretch goals :troll:

Anyway, time to start speculating what their final budget will be:
What do other KS curves suggest? Something around 3-3.2 mio?

The paladin classes (and Bard), there is like a 10 page topic about it on the Obsidian forums. As well as a topic about Ziets. Of note none of these topics were made by me. :P

Also my guess is 3-3.1 Mil. Which is just crazy. But there seems to be a LOT of old IE fans apparently.

Is Ziets really that big of a name outside of the Codex? And didn't most mainstream reviews slam MotB for its spirit eater mechanics?

Here and the official forums. Doubtful anywhere else. Also: Why are people such pussies about the goddamn spirit meter mechanics? It's not that hard to master no matter what kind of character you build. Jesus. I love that thing.

I don't think 3,2-3,5m is out of the question, if the screenshot is impressive enough, it probably can get lot of new pledges, same with great stretch goals which I hope will be well done.

Yeah, they are going to need to whip out something to drive the KS. What exactly they could pull out I have no idea. Maybe the Justin Sweet portraits? Which is yet another hot topic there (11 pages). I personally LOVE his art he did in IWD II. But they will need something more than that.

They'd better photoshop that screenshot to hell and back if they hope to win any people over with it.

Yeah. I think they are taking a HUGE fucking risk doing a screen shot. But I guess if they feel they have it nailed down enough (even as an incredibly early Alpha) then go for it I guess. If they can actually nail down that really cool IE like look and feel, that might actually drive it.

Since they are aiming at the IE games, they wouldn't have to. All they need is a well done handpainted background and some character models. A month is a plenty of time to do that.

The way I'm seeing this is a do or die situation. The game obviously looks like shit in its current pre-pre-pre-alpha state. They will HAVE to photoshop it if they don't want to lose donors.

My guess is that they will shop it, and that will make it look good enough as to get another donation surge. I doubt they're dumb enough to show a shitty WIP screenshot.
