I agree with him, even an untextured IE like game screenshot is way better than the shit IMMERSION 3D Console shit we get today.

Still that doesn't stop people from paying for it and playing it.

Who can stop popamole?

What can change the nature of a popamole?
Destructible cover?
Stat's that determine the outcome of the battle?

Bashing or lack thereof are unconfirmed. Asking Josh Sawyer.
I can tell you right now there won't be any door or lock bashing because Josh doesn't like it when another mechanic makes a skill you invest in irrelevant.

What if there is a door bash skill that's strength based and a lock pick skill that's dex based?

Breaking a lock/chest can be made a more cumbersome solution when compared to lockpicking. Bashing a door might attract enemies and bashing a chest open might break the contents. Like wise, bashing may set traps off.

By the way, 'Hey Roguey, you're wrong' should become a staple of this site every single time roguey says something that isn't absolutely spot on.

IIRC, bashing was very hard to do in the IE games. You needed to be unnaturally strong to have a decent chance at it. It was far easier to just bring a thief.

It became easier in the 3E games, though.

It is still boring in 3E games unless you are "unnaturally" (read all level 4 fighters) strong. The problem is the DR of the chest typically around ~5.

Just make every single door and chest in the game Iron.

Problem solved. :smug:

yeah. I wonder when they realize that the intelligent way of breaking doors is not breaking it down, but breaking the hinges.

EDIT: I know when. When they decide to make them adamantine.

Reinforced iron hinges would not be breakable. Shit this is fantasy, they could make anything up.
