Year 3191:
Several centuries after humanity was wiped out, deep underground, one man remains.
a rotting corpse without eyes or mouth kept alive by machines and sheer hatred,
still waiting for a response from 22 Cans Studios.

How do they expect to ever recover from this? Whats the point of shifting resources to a different game when your first game is such a massive fiasko, in fact even a fraudulent one, that releasing another game will only cause an epic shitstorm, regardless of what actual qualities the new game might have? Can they not see that they and their reputation are done for?

Inactivity Report 116 (Year 6, Week 4)
I started doing these with the intention to roundup all the news surrounding the development of Godus. But since there were basically none for the last two years, I think a rename is in order. If you have a better idea for the title let me know.

IT LIVES!

18 months to change engines because the one they picked died (RIP Marmalade), The Trail was Le Fail of a literal walking simulator, Curiosity already blew its load and left the bastard child god Bryan Henderson out on the street (a clicker with a finite shelf life - fucking genius), and I think everyone knows by now NFT Legacy was going to turn into making the most elegant industrialized Peter jokes, so they had to turn towards something they could exploit.

Oh my. 18 months? That's longer than it took us to develop the original release. Wow. How much platform dependent code did we add that it could take that long? That's crazy. I've engine ported a few games in my time, and the longest was a two month job going from Unreal to unity, and that takes a language change from C++ to C#.

At least it's not... that... again...

Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex USB, 2014 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

I've played Reprisal, but at the time it wasn't on steam. It was a browser based game and was definitely a fun experience, but it fell far short of Populous 2. It had the right paintjob and mechanics, but was a fraction of the game. They should have made something of the same breadth, or even expanded it, rather than put out some tiny little demo version.

Skyward Collapse just annoys me. Can't work up the motivation to play universim (does it even have greek heroes, why bother). Thank you for reminding me of Reprisal though. :salute:

You had to bump the thread for this?
A likely PC update seemed like a good reason, if just to see what tricks Peter has his new victims performing. There was some changes to a few of 22cans' Steam DB stuff back in March and now there's another update they're showing. Who knows, maybe by ditching Marmalade they might actually do something here?
