They're not doing very well at that so far then, since your typical steam user does think that he owns the games in his account, and would be absolutely livid if they were taken away, regardless of what it says in the terms of use.They failed to force it in music and movies, but because the gaming culture is full of brodudes, children, and manchildren they probably have a better shot in games. It is part of a long-term strategy to get people acclimated to not owning things they buy so that corporations can control customer behavior.
Divx was something entirely different, it was an explicit rental and failed because it was inconvenient compared to renting a dvd the old-fashioned way.
