>staff makes thread asking users to use 2FA
>no one does
>they really want people to use 2FA for (((reasons)))
>can't just force people to usa 2FA for no reason
>give them a reason
>force people to use 2FA

regardless of who carried out this attack, we can ask ourselves "who benefits?" and the answer is telling.

:hmmm:
AAAA ITS LITERALLY LIKE THE VACCINATION FOR COVID

I had a complicated password of 15+ characters, why force this shit on me?
Perhaps I'm missing something but why is there so much whining about a fucking code sent to your e-mail address?
If it worked fine, I wouldn't complain. Other websites with 2FA constantly mistake my only PC for a "OH NO, A NEW DEVICE" and force me to go to my email and enter a code.
In the last 3 hours I logged into the Codex from 2 computers and one phone, each using vpn and different country IP address. Encountered no problems.

Oh, better yet, maybe Tanisha'll call your dog-ass if she ever stop fuckin' with that brain surgeon or lawyer she fucking with. Nigga...

So the 30-day trust period is cookie-based?

:stunned:

That's not going to agree with those who keep a clean browser.

I'm more of a lurker than anything, but I don't save cookies and the 2FA process gets in the way every time I log in. I suppose this is the end of the road for me, I'll lurk the gaming forums without logging to my account and that's it.

2FA is cancer, biggest decline of the codex yet as it imports cancer under the guise of being for the users benefit.

I bet you the one time it might actually be useful for me i'll end up screwing me over anyways or i'll lose the codes somehow. And hell since i pasted it in the notes of my email then any l33t HAXOR who can access my email will then be able to defeat the 2FA anyways so it does literally 0 for me other then piss me off.

Personally i like to use passwords like fuckyouhackingpos or ihopeyoudieifyoureadthis, this way if someone does try to hack me i get to insult them a bit on the way and hopefully hurt their feelings.

I like passwords made up of random things like "grail.access.watch.ephemeral"

Easy to remember, but just as difficult to bruteforce as any stupid 1337sp33x nonsense

Yes, phrases are considered to be superior to "strong" passwords now from a cyber sec perspective.

One of the big advantages is that users are less likely to write phrase passwords down on a post it note and stick it to their monitors as many normies do.

Edit: for citation see the FBI's 2020 recommendation and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) recommendation.
