It's a thirty-day cycle for all the devices you access the site with. It might not be necessary on your phone IF you configure your phone to use the same (wi-fi) network that your PC uses, but why would you use your phone to browse Codex when you're at home instead of your PC?

In the past, whenever some passwords get compromised on sites I use, I get asked to change passwords if I want to use the site again. Never did they force 2FA on me, because they understand it's a very inelegant solution. Almost no one likes it so why keep forcing it unless you love seeing your userbase suffer?
