GuJian, another Chinese only RPG on Steam, turn-based this time:

ss_821afe77f3e58342fc6c6d374b27505443313442.600x338.jpg

It's originally released in 2010. Looks like relatively high budget production. (It also got a TV series adaptation and MMO version.)

Makes me wonder how many Chinese/Taiwanese singleplayer RPGs are out there, unknown to the "outside" world.

In case anyone's interested, Ghostlight's progress report on PC port of Omega Quintet: http://blog.ghostlight.uk.com/post/omega-quintet-first-playable-build-arrives

So, what are the next steps? Well, along with the ever-present bug squashing which will keep us all busy for a good while, we will be reworking the User Interface to function with mouse and keyboard, integrating middleware where necessary and re-rendering the movies. We’ll also be adding new features such as cloud saving and achievements, plus generally adding as much polish as possible to the PC port to make it the best version we can. While it's too early to give you all a more precise release date, the good news is that we are well on course to get the PC version of Omega Quintet to you all this year :).

Arc System Works' Damascus Gear Operation Tokyo HD is out now:

ss_ce5b523b0848898b60e0ff20a8d9da081af5c8f3.600x338.jpg

Mecha Hack'n'Slash "Damascus Gear: Operation of Tokyo HD Edition", is now out on Steam with full HD graphics!
Ride in the Anti-RAGE Weapon System "Gears", destroy enemies, salvage for parts and upgrade your Gear, to reclaim the world!

Included in the PC version are all of the extra scenarios formerly introduced as DLCs in the PlayStation®Vita system release.
The "Hero Creation" mode, which depicts a new story after the end of the main story, has also been included!

Story
World War IV. A war by humans, with an ending that no humans had possibly hoped for. The humanoid weapon system "Gears", which formed the primary battle force of any war-front, went berserk on a massacre against humanity.

In a blink of an eye, most of humanity's civilization has been annihilated, forcing the remaining survivors to live in underground shelters.

The berserk Gears were then called "RAGE".

Over time, humanity slowly regained control over several Gears, and has now risen up to battle over the reign for the surface, against the RAGE.

Key Features
  • Clear Countless Numbers of Missions!
As a new member of the Specialist Organization Freya, you will undertake many missions to reclaim Tokyo from the RAGE.
There are over 50 missions, including everything from subjugation to escorts, transportation of materials, rescues, etc.

  • Use Your GEAR to Destroy the RAGE!
You will use your own personalized Gear to fight the RAGE, and recapture the surface.
You can take various parts from the RAGE that you have defeated, and use them to strengthen your own Gear.

  • Gather Parts, and Strengthen Your Gear!
At the Dock, you can customize your Gear with parts taken from the RAGE, and strengthen your Gear.
There are various types of usable parts, ranging from armor to weapons, and you can customize your Gear to fit your combat style.
Furthermore, some of these parts may have special "Properties" to strengthen your Gear further.

  • Obtain Parts with Properties, and Advance to New Heights!
There are times when the parts you obtain have effects known as "Properties" on them.
Equipping these parts will grant your Gear with additional effects.
There are various Properties, including useful effects such as enhanced endurance, or speed boost.

Game Description:
The Legend of Zelda: San Shen Zhi Li is an action role playing game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is a bootleg NES version of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES.

Translation Description:
This is the English translation for the Chinese game The Legend of Zelda - Triforce of the Gods, or as it’s known in the US… A Link to the Past. The game plays similar to the original, although more limited. For example, the player can’t move diagonally and the sword’s range is marginally more limited than in the original. Some of the elements in the game (such as the bosses) were changed, likely due to hardware constraints. There’s new original music featured in the game (without counting the title theme, which is extended), which changes in a set order every time you move to a different screen. Enjoy!

Tekken Force was a thing so beatem up would make some sense. Too bad it would probably end in another musou made by Temco.

Hidetaka Suehiro aka SWERY (known for Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die) is making a mystery RPG called The Good Life, and it's coming to Fig: http://mailchi.mp/fig/1111112

Game Share is $100 per share, which is much lower than usual $1,000.

Our newest campaign is a mystery RPG by SWERY (Hidetaka Suehiro), the creator of the cult classics, Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die.

Welcome to The Good Life. The game is set in Rainy Woods, the self-proclaimed "happiest town in the world." Here, you'll play as Naomi, a photographer from New York who finds herself stuck in this small town in rural England. She's found a way to pay off the massive debt she's accumulated, but she soon discovers that the town is hiding a very bizarre secret...

At night, all of the town's residents turn into cats. Why does this happen? Is this why everyone in town is so happy? No one seems to remember what they do at night. Naomi is here to find out what's going on in Rainy Woods.

The townspeople aren't the only ones who get to roam around at night as a cat - Naomi does too! Once the sun sets, you'll get to explore Rainy Woods and collect clues and important items connected to the events of the story. The town becomes a very different place at night, as certain secret paths, rooftops, and attics can only be accessed by cats. Take a peek at the campaign page for more gameplay details and be sure to leave your feedback in the comments! Also, we've lowered the minimum investment amount - Fig Game Shares for The Good Life will be $100 per share!

And now, a word from SWERY:

Hello everyone. I'm SWERY, the director of The Good Life.

Last November, I created my new studio, White Owls, and this is our first official announcement. From the bottom of my heart, I feel so proud to be announcing this game with Fig, a next-generation publisher.

This game will inherit the spirit of Deadly Premonition, my most representative work, but it will also feature a brand new style of gameplay. It's a mystery game based on the framework of a 'daily life RPG.' I'm positive that the happiest town in the world and the most bizarre townspeople in the world will capture your heart and pull you deep into their world. Please support The Good Life and help us bring this game to life.

I'm sure this game will make a lot of people happy!

I Love You All!!
