I heard of: Another War, Dragonfire, Metalheart, Gorasul. Not sure about The Banished - if you mean a Steam era game called Banished iirc then yes. Of those I only tried to play (i think) Metalheart but i don't remember a thing.

Gorasul might be best one on that list, heard it was top5 worst RPGs ever for some reasons. Not sure if something happened but my original potato version had differen solution for puzzles?
also nice music

I have plans to play pure solo mage because spellsbooks looks quite promising and companions are more shallow than a puddle - solo mage is the way. Just need to get my talking dagger to boost mana regen to reasonable rate.

Paradise Cracked all I heard that it's turn based all the time. And civilians have their turns too. Imagine city combat from Fallout 1/2 with every NPC having their turn and you get the game...

DragonFire WoS - it has pirate duck as playable character. Tried iso and took me way more time to run it than play it - it was p. weak and not memorable. Camera a'la old Resident Evil games too.

Metal Heart RR - another game with way too long turn based combat. And some gamebreaking bugs too because of course.
Shadow Vault was really rought but had some fun with it, reminded me Fallout Tactics sometimes. Some missions were quite difficult tho.

Archangel was generic action TPP game - either go melee (which is not spectaculer) or spectre mage with sneak flavours, didn't try that one though. Main character was voiced by Geralt from Twitcher series.
Another War had weird balance with OP melee and respawning enemies (fuck that) and a references to WW2 movies and similar.

Will vouch that Mistmare is an excellent Eastern European jank if you can get it running properly. Worth a playthrough for sure.

Hello, I'm looking for some isometric rpgs from around 1995 to 1998 with at least 3D models, doesn't matter if it's turn based or RTwP, thanks.

Obscure? If not, go to the list of RPGs thread and just ctrl+f and find the years/tags you want.
Thanks for the reply. And yes, it would have to be obscure. I did look at the list, but I couldn't any.

I've added the first 20-30 games in this thread on that list. If you "didn't find any" (there are many isometric rpg's from 1995-1998 on that thread), then just keep scrolling through here or look at mobygames, that's your best bet, many have been talked about so I don't know exactly what you're looking for without more specifics.

Sorry for the late repy. What I'm looking for are rpgs from that period with 3D models, not sprites. Unfortunately, I don't know of any except for jrpgs and some action rpgs.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry, but it's too recent. The thing is I'm a big fan of PS1 era 3D graphics, so, what I'm looking for, are western rpgs with those graphics.

Only thing that quickly comes to mind is Hexplore. While devs experimented a lot with 3d graphics in the 90s, they mostly chose fpp/tpp. Using 3d models in isometric games seems to me a thing of early 2000s, like Temple of Elemental Evil and Ruins of Myth Drannor.

I was thinking that was the case. Thanks for helping, though.

Well, Rigel is in line with timed DunjonQuests like Morloc's Tower and Datestones of Ryn and Sorcerer of Siva. Damn pity Cliffs of Tyyr (unreleased) was never released or finished.

Star Warrior is, IMHO just a strategy game.

DunjonQuest/StarQuest games like early Plato games would do well to have a construction set. Naturally, hearing about that party-based Telengard-like game spikes my interest. I've never seen a fully mapped telengard detailed.

The era of gaming was different. As gfx whoring increased peoples mental gymnastics of imagination decreased. Now, the newest generations are infecting older generations with disappointment towards old games. Only the most stout OLDTIMER can resist. It is our POWER OF OLD!!!

I can vouch that all of these suck balls and/or are downright broken. You can search for my comments on The Banished in this very thread.

WIll you be adventurous enough to start playing it? I'd love to hear more about this mysterious game!
Definitely plan too. Was thinking about doing a LP, but I already started one with another game and but just don't have enough time to both translate & post.

I'm gonna boot it up soon and see if I can play around with the files and do my own ENG translation since it doesn't exist.

Bros I've got one, probably.

SUPERSTAR

https://www.homeoftheunderdogs.net/game.php?id=4198

You play a poor musician trying to make it big. Character creation, stats. You can get into fights but no actual combat system to my recollection. The game is in getting inspiration through fights, drugs, chicks, then using it to assemble a band, write songs and perform them live. Get popular enough, get record deal, eventually go on big tours etc. If you don't die in a gutter of drug overdose before you get anywhere.

I remember it decently but specifics are going to elude me. I think there's different personalities you can have which affect what things get you inspiration which is needed to write good songs. On account of the creation and stats it could loosely be considered a role-playing game.

Archived website. I recently found a folder on an external hard drive and it reminded me of it. My copy is registered. If anyone is interested and can't find it elsewhere I'll probably upload it.
