Istanbul Efsaneleri: Lale Savaşçılar (Istanbul Legends: Tulip Warriors) A Turkish RPG from 1994(Amiga) 1996 (PC), I don't think it ever translated to English. 4 fool trying to save Istanbul from evil sheikh "Ignorance". Pretty OK game .fmv cutscenes O_o

"İstanbul Efsaneleri: Lale Savaşçıları is one of the first Turkish games (first CRPG) ever developed for PCs. The game consists of a lot of different spells (actually swear words from turkish) and a very different character system.

The story takes place in an alternative Istanbul. You start with a group of four Turkish youngsters who were playing football near an abandoned auto-park. When the ball accidentally went inside the building and of course the youngsters after the ball, they all find themselves in a medieval looking Istanbul. They use all of their training (swearing as spells, waste baskets as shields, and turnips as weapons) to overcome the dangers of this mysterious and evil-infested medieval looking Istanbul, and return to their homes.

The gameplay is from the first-person perspective. You control your party with the keyboard and find your way in the 2D environment. The combats are from an isometric point of view and turn-based."

It had nice spell variety - you might improve your talking dagger to get better mana boost and might even solo the game? Overall - average experience if you don't have access to better RPGs. Which was a thing back then - you could get Gorasul for a few bucks when new games could cost arm and leg easily.

but still got some bugs - remember finishing Potato version no problems, then tried English version and turns out puzzles are different depending on the difficulty and language....

Hi folks! I'm a transgender woman with medium functioning autism and I abosultely enjoy roleplaying RPG games. Currently I LP-review exclusively little known RPGs at my YT channel, like Chaos Seed, Malgrimia and Ginga Sengoku Gunyuuden Rai (Japanese Master of Orion). Interested? Search Heroes of Malgrimia and Nancy Sadkov. Apparently I'm the first person to do English commentary on Malgrimia. Dank u wel!

Freedom: Rebels in the Darkness.
1988 French RPG/strategy made by a Black girl.
You have to free Black slaves from the plantation and kill whites.
Atari ST appears to be the definitive version, since in others you can't reroll stats.

If I count obscure as "doesn't have a codex thread" then here's a list (I'll take liberties with this definition, if there's just one, old, and didn't even go past one page I'll include it):

SpurguX
1987 "politically incorrect" roguelike by a Finnish mf, probably not obscure enough but I do love to bring this game up any chance I get

Warrior Dragon
You play as a dragon, fighting humans. Released in 2000, made by Lumental Games, it's a top down, "consoley" RPG with pixel graphics

The Broken Land
Yet another diablo clone by some developer called Ace Platinous Family

Invictus: In the Shadow of Olympus
Strategy/RPG, it has both a steam and GOG store page but I haven't seen it mentioned on the Codex

I always found that name interesting.

Does SpurguX have any connection whatsoever to Spurdo Spärde, linguistically or culturally?
