Yeah, that's mostly what I wanted up anyway as I've played most other versions of u3. It'd be this one and the old b/w version that's left. I played the trilogy on fm-towns so i skipped a few computers of similar make.

Skipped msx, famicom played NES
skipped pc88, pc98, fm-7 and played towns.

Never found the sharp x1. I think mobygames has an incomplete list and is obviously missing screenshots.

Jigsaw puzzle? No pics of watch or t shirt and I assume no port to msx2.

E3tshirt.jpg

Which..... I'd pass on. Box art of the demon is far better.

Releases by Date

Lairware version
Fujitsu FM Towns Marty

Added lairware and fm-towns to the missing mobygames list.

I loved the NES version of Ultima III when I was a kid. It was basically my introduction to western style RPGs. Before that, I had mostly only played JRPGs.

I had Amiga 500 when I was a kid. Amazing half a megabyte of RAM, no hard drive. But the games... oh, what games it could run!
Sorry i'm a bit late but i have to ask. Half MB only? That was the basic amount of memory, yes but i thought most Amiga 500 had the upgrade to 1MB. But maybe i'm biased because mine had. On the other hand i remember there were games that required 1MB. What year it was?

Don't remember the exact year, 1991/2? Early 90s. Yes, I remember Mortal Kombat requiring 1 MB, couldn't play it properly on my Amiga. There were perhaps upgrades available but 8-10 year old me either did not know about them or didn't have the cash.

Action/Adventure/ARPG developed by Polish studio Metropolis Software House (Who themselves had a crack at a Witcher game before CD Projekt).

yeah lol... I honestly don't know if I would enjoy it today, but I had a lot of fun with that one

funny, it's one of the reasons I got hard for Eidos, which is why I bought Omikron, which I hated

I did end up buying that one; still have it. David Cage's first game I believe. Bad game overall, it doesn't know what it wants to be (adventure + fighting game + FPS). Would have been better as a straight RPG. I thought the body-switching mechanic was pretty interesting, there's unique characters available if you die during different points in the story that you can't get otherwise.

I did dig the Bowie/Reeves Gabrels songs too.

Interesting enough, I was exploring my Amiga emulation folder and found this game, and it runs fine. Immediately hit me with the Conan-plagiarized line "let me tell you of the days of high adventure." If I didn't see the blobber screenshots I would have thought it was some kind of VN. It does not start with any "gameplay", your stats and inventory are displayed as text in the window, there's no seperate stat or inventory screen that I saw. I wandered a bit in the first town and island but didn't get to any dungeons. The high-res graphics come at a cost of transitions and screen effects being kind of slow.

yeah... I really wanted to like it

those games were pioneering efforts though, and I don't resent even the bad designs

it's stupid easy to be critical today

Is the game worth giving a chance? I remember trying it twice but never reaching far due to clunky controls.
Looks like a much older Witcher 1 to me, especially the beginning, and the ambience/music. I'm a Witcher 1 simp (as can be seen in my profile pic), have a soft spot for old euro jank, and an atmosphere fag. If any of that relates to you at all, worth a shot. Can't promise "good", but definitely something unique.

Speaking of Witcher - main character (Michael?) shares the voice actor with Geralt in Twitcher trilogy.
Would recommend it? Only for people liking to conquer every jank they encounter and can adapt to weird controls. Still have to try my own copy from certain "chamber of collection"...

I still play it once in a while.
Best combat system in this genre, period. Had to tweak some config files for some mana/stamina/HP regen that would counterweight brutal spawns behind my back and hours spend in maze'n'caves.

HowLongToBeat says completing Archangel takes about 11 hours, so at least the time investment is not large. I might try again perhaps. In the fullness of time. One of these days. Or those days.

No one mentioned Hybrid Heaven the action rpg for nintendo 64 where you play an abductee trying to escape a strange base full of alien/human hybrids. You learn new combat moves from enemies inflicting them on you, level up limbs/attacks/grapples through using them. It's probably the only rpg where you can supplex your enemies so it should have the Latro seal of approval.

Don't know too much about this one. It's only in Polish, and it's some kind of SUD (With a massive map).

If what you're looking for is a good, obscure RPG in a nice setting then you should try Jewel of Arabia : Dreamers. It takes place in an Arabian Nights setting, focuses on exploration first and foremost, in a fully open world or so, and has everything you could expect such as party creation and turn-based combat. It uses a keyboard-based dialog system and in particular you'll hunt keywords to get quests...
Do you happen to know anything about the developers or where they're from?
