The characters on the battle screen looks stupid, mainly the armor of warriors.

Other than that, Im still interested.

Holy shit. That looks fucking sweet for an ALPHA. And glad to see it is still turn based combat. <3

Also, for you non german speakers, those obstacles on the battle map give cover from ranged attacks now.

Ok, count me surprised. This doesn't look bad at all. To be honest it looks fucking amazing!

I'm hyped as fuck.

Man, all these great looking RPGs coming out the next two years - my biggest fear right now is that I could die spontaneously before I've played them all!

I get that it's an alpha, but wow, the framerate is choppy. Hope that gets smoothed out. I'm curious, what would even make this preferable to the original at this point?

For part one, some overhaul that brings the mechanics up to par with part 2 would be welcome.
Graphics, while not a major concern, of course. Again, it's especially true for part 1.

I seriously hope they remove the "Pay XP to save your game" bullshit. Call me popamole, but I found this annoying as hell back then.

Don't understand a bit of German but liked most of what I saw. What I didn't like was the zoomed-in camera shot every time a character struck an enemy. Just reminded me of all those DX:HR "takedowns." I hope that can be turned off.

That looks pretty cool. I'm don't like the walking predetermined paths between checkpoints thing, even if there are chances of random encounters... (assuming that is how it's set up, it's what it looked like but I don't speak or read German) The game still looks fairly solid, but that would seem to reduce possibilities for meaningful exploration.

Call me cautiously optimistic.

I was reminded of Final Fantasy...never a good thing. Really makes one wonder why they would do something so ridiculous (especially in a game like this.)

This is one of the reasons why the best part of emulators is often speeding up the game about 1000 %. Why can't they just let us play the game instead of watching hour-long sword swing animations.

That is exactly how the map in Realms of Arkania worked.

ONLY the critical hits are zoomed in. Maybe you can even turn this off, since you can also switch on and off things like seeing the actual dice results in combat.

Dice rolls I want!! Zoomed in hit animations, not so much...

Fuck Gamestar. Textures on the stone gate being drawn nicely? Who the fuck cares? Why is the (percieved? can't watch again) majority of the video focused on graphics? Why do I even care what they say? Why do they invest time in DOF and shitty crit animations? Need to calm down. Other than that: I like what I see.
