"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." - Matthew 6:24

Voting for D.

Negative efficiency penalty is not worth the benefits except for desperate situations like faster building of troops through the Industry bonus while under real threat of being defeated coupled with Police State better support. Free Market doesn't fit as they aren't Scientologist fundies.

I'd suggest as an overall plan Fundie - Power - Eudaimonia while retaining simple economics, because Planned hurts efficiency too much without Demoncracy, Free Market is evil and Green is worship of "Planetmind" (obviously Satan) above God.

On Future techs Cybernetics seems absurd for fundies to accept as it means putting machines above mankind and Thought Control is like that seven-year long thing the Book of Revelation was talking about. Eudaimonia fits with the millenialist view of an Utopian society guided by God after the tribulation. Once it becomes available its morale penalty will be practically irrelevant anyway if you don't conquer the entire Planet before researching or probing it from someone else.

"Brothers and Sisters of this congregation, here is my opinion, after minutes of deliberation and profound thought."

A) Nice to do in peace-times after most expansion has stopped, but sucks at war-times. I would recomend this, but I think our holy colonies of worshipers are still small. I think FM during peace and Planned during war fits Believers best.

B) Nice idea, but I think its not the time to go Free Market. We know just two civilizations, essentially our two beaten-up vassals, which means any trading that comes from Free Market will be negligible.

C) This is the best option so far. Though a planned economy our holy nation can estimulate the people to be fruitfull and mutiply, it can also help speed our the enhancement of our colonies into proper habitats for humanity, and the preparation of expeditions to the seas.

D) Bad idea, we need some extra advantage to prepare for future contact with other factions. A Simple economic system will not do. We are not anymore the pioneers who came to this planet and tried to eke out a measure of life here. Now we have a advanced civilization in Planet, and with civilization comes organization. I have no interest in material wealth, but I recon that only though a more complex economic system we can manage the needs of the advanced 23rd Century nation we will soon become. A more complex economic system allows us to claim this planet for The Lord and Humanity, be it from the slimmy demoniac worms, or the other factions that wait for us outside.

VEREDICT: We need a planned economy to fill God order and obtain his blessing. I quote the scriptures to illustrate my point. Therefore, C!

Genesis 1:27-28 “And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Not implementing societal changes would be silly. God tells every man to better himself, so choosing not to do so for the whole group is tantamount to blasphemy.
Your LARP prevents the use of Democracy, otherwise I'd have voted Democracy and Planned Economy. As is, I will have to settle for the latter.

1. How should we vote in the election?

If we want to rescind the U.N. Charter in the future, Yang will be more useful since Deirdre would most likely veto the motion.
Then again, Yang is already too powerful, and the extra commerce the position generates will strengthen him further.

A. Support Lady Deirdre
B. Support Chairman Yang
C. Abstain (Deirdre is elected)

C. This election is a sham.

2. How should we interact with the Gaians?
A. Try to befriend them despite their abhorent nature. A treaty and technological exchange would do us good. If necessary, pay tribute.
B. Maintain a truce and remain wary of them. Do nothing that will strengthen them further, and plan their demise.
C. They are a threat to us all and must be eliminated. Make their destruction our number one priority.

C. I feel they might be a little bit too friendly with the planet. Start probing them, plan their complete annihilation.

3. How should we interact with the Hive?

A. Yang is a godless brute, but we can not afford another conflict so soon. Make concessions and strive for a treaty.
B. Try to maintain a truce until we know the extent of his territory and are ready to strike.
C. He might be strong, but God is on our side! If he provokes us we shall respond in kind.

B. If possible, make him fight Deidre!

4. How should we interact with the Spartans?

A. The Spartans might be useful and they hold no love for Chairman Yang and his minions. Attempt to ally with them against the Hive!
B. Sign a treaty and exchange technology, but do not get involved in any armed conflicts until we are absolutely ready.
C. They are unbelievers and unworthy of our trust. Locate and subjugate them to gain another tributary!

A. Hold back any technological exchanges. But make sure you use their arms against our rivals.

5. How should we interact with the University?

A. They are an affront to our beliefs, but we might be able to use them for our purposes. Sign a treaty of friendship with them and attempt to form a pact.
B. Sign a treaty with them and seek to locate their territory. Do not sign a pact, and refrain from attacking until we are fully ready.
C. No covenant with the devil! Maintain a truce until we locate them, then employ Probe Teams to liberate technology and impede their progress. If vendetta is declared, destroy them.

A. It might be beneficial to probe them. But our main priority would be to take down the stronger factions.

6. Should we reconsider our economic policy?

The Brazilian Slaughter has presented us with some good critique regarding our economic policy. We might need to reconsider our position.

A. Yes, God wills it! We need Planned Economy to boost our population and production capacity.
B. Yes, adopt Planned Economy, but switch system if Deirdre becomes too hostile. We do not need another war.
C. We must resist! The old ways are best.

A. In the light of our recent 'democratic elections' I'm afraid it's best to fight fire with fire...

7. Finally, Lal has proved himself to be most difficult. Should we reconsider our arrangement?

A. He is a constant thorn in our side and his faction will never be of use to us. Conquer his bases and have him executed!
B. His recent actions are deplorable, but breaking our pact would greatly harm our reputation. Leave him be for now, his destruction is not yet warranted.
C. Lal is a fool, but he is unable to defy us. Boost his productivity by giving him back some bases, and secure his votes before any future elections.

A. He is an insufferable, useless worm. The Morganites will serve us better. Eliminate him, utterly.

C. Boycott this "council" it is nothing more than a tower of babel which will be brought down.
C. Pagans and witches must burn.
B. These godless communists must burn as well but our faction needs to grow stronger first.
C. The spiritually weak must be shown the error of their ways, repent and convert.
C. They dismiss the holy scripture as the only source of Truth in the Universe. The serpent himself is guiding them whispering to their ears. A holy crusade is the only acceptable solution.
C. Asceticism above all, we shall lead a simple life untainted by wealth like the saints of the past.
A. His treachery cannot be tolerated, he is not an ally of The Believers but an ally of Satan himself.

Also Hercules is not a planet orbiting Alpha Centauri B but the star Alpha Centauri B itself. All the planets and moons in the system are named after centaurs and since Alpha Centauri B prevented the formation of larger outer planets it was named after the mythical greek centaur slayer.

C, Boycott this den of snakes an liars! The U.N. was founded by the greedy Satan-worshipper David Rockefeller and is a prototype for the Luciferian New World Order.

B, for they are not the greatest threat among the devil puppets. Purify their wicked secrets through probe teams and let them fight the Hive.

C: To make concessions to the wannabe Antichrist is to give in your soul. Every second given to the chairman of Satan on Planet shall be a second he grows stronger

A: Despite focused as they are in power and survival their origins still trace back from the God-fearing militias of the 20th century fighting against multikult and the New World Order and with enough persuasion they may yet find their way close to God.

B: Purify their technology and let them live as long as they do not remain a significant threat and keep our probe teams busy and successful.

6. Should we reconsider our economic policy?

The Brazilian Slaughter has presented us with some good critique regarding our economic policy. We might need to reconsider our position.

A. Yes, God wills it! We need Planned Economy to boost our population and production capacity.

C. We must resist! The old ways are best.

C, bureaucracy inspired by the godless commies is one step closer to Hell!

B, for he is powerless to defy the will of the Lord.

Here's my vote:

1. How should we vote in the election?

I vote C. Deirdre and Yang are both major menaces, not only to the Believers, but to every other faction on planet. Deirdre seeks to stamp out any legitimate human development on the planet, substituting it for her brand of eco-extremism. At best, they're idiots, at worst, planet worshipers, and therefore heathens.
Yang seeks to stamp out free will from Chiron, and any form of religion, including the rightful religion. Absenting also helps our relations with both, giving us a better starting ground with both of them.

2. I vote A. We need to expand and consolidate, it is not the time for war, destruction and expansion.

3. I vote A too. Its not the time to destroy Yang dystopia yet. Let's show a friendly face, for now.

4. Voting A Sparta seems to be closest thing to a ally we may obtain. They are a very disciplined and keen people, clearly a worthy ally. Yang hates our nation ruled by God and his chosen, Deirdre believes we hate her friend "planet", Morgan is already on our side, Lal is a traitorous democratic scum, Zakharov is a filthy atheist devoid of any ethics. Santiago values strength and discipline. We are strong and disciplined. They are strong and disciplinned. Believers and Spartans, bros forever! :bro:

5. Voting A. The University's time will come, soon. For now, let them be a obstacle to the larger powers.

6. Voting A. Deirdre has no capacity to attack us at the present, from what we know, and she has far more of a issue with the Free Market economics, which are more closerly associated with CEO Morgan. We need to grown and fill this planet with humanity's holy presence. The recent election proves that we need to grow in order to fight the Major powers.

7. Voting B. It is the wrong time to have reputation problems. But still, prepare for his ultimate demise, sooner or later.

1. How should we vote in the election?
C.

2. How should we interact with the Gaians?
B. Be wary of them and send the occasional probe team, how dare they steal from us.

3. How should we interact with the Hive?
B. Charging in blindly is foolish.

4. How should we interact with the Spartans?
B. Exchanging military technology could save us a lot of time.

5. How should we interact with the University?
C. Probe Em'

6. Should we reconsider our economic policy?
A. Being robbed blind is surely our punishment for not choosing to better ourselves.

7. Finally, Lal has proved himself to be most difficult. Should we reconsider our arrangement?
A. Kill him, he has betrayed us not once but twice. Voting for the opposition and declaring vendetta against us.

1. How should we vote in the election?
C. Abstain (Deirdre is elected)

If we can't win, then I don't care about the result. Both of these people are our enemies - why vote for dead men?

2. How should we interact with the Gaians?

B. Maintain a truce and remain wary of them. Do nothing that will strengthen them further, and plan their demise.

Don't piss them off yet. As with Zak, probe the fuck out of them if possible.

3. How should we interact with the Hive?

C. He might be strong, but God is on our side! If he provokes us we shall respond in kind.

Yang is the Antichrist. He seeks to usurp God's mandate with his own, and for that, he must suffer our righteous fury. HOWEVER, that being said, I think that while going after Yang is an inevitability, we should hold off on war until we've managed to steal some techs from Zak.

4. How should we interact with the Spartans?

A. The Spartans will be the closest thing to an ally we have. Yang will be a tough opponent (no question, we WILL go against him at some point) and I think that Santiago would be more than willing to go after him if they have some help from us.

5. How should we interact with the University?
B. Sign a treaty with them and seek to locate their territory. Do not sign a pact, and refrain from attacking until we are fully ready.

They're godless heathens, so there's going to be no friendship between us. However, given Zak's weaknesses manage to align perfectly with our strengths (we have bonuses to Probing, but Zak is very vulnerable to it) I suggest we start going after his techs ASAP. Before we go after either Yang or Deirdre, our first order of business should be to bolster our already faith-fueled forces with Zak's abundant techs.

6. Should we reconsider our economic policy?

A. Yes, God wills it! We need Planned Economy to boost our population and production capacity.

Our cities are pretty small, so I think that we could certainly use the growth and the increased production to fuel our war machine. The Efficiency hit sucks, but is survivable.

7. Finally, Lal has proved himself to be most difficult. Should we reconsider our arrangement?

B. His recent actions are deplorable, but breaking our pact would greatly harm our reputation. Leave him be for now, his destruction is not yet warranted.

What's he going to do? Nothing, that's what. If the time comes when we can take him out, sure, let's do it, but he's hardly in any position to do any harm to us at this point. We've got bigger fish to fry than worrying about some tantrum-throwing vassal.

I worry more about Lal's votes. If we could somehow ensure he never votes against us...it would be best to terminate him.

We need to really hurt Zak with probes - I think that's pivotal to our whole strategy here. We acquire his techs, then our Planned Economy can pump out higher-quality, higher-tech troops faster so that we can bring the fight to our enemies (Yang in particular, but also Dierdre). We should switch to Fundamentalism once we have it available. I don't think Dierdre will be as much of a threat militarily due to her hippie faggotry, but I am concerned if she's got a huge force of mindworms around.
