Will they make it so you can't just run around and avoid 90% of the game, and that also being the most efficient strategy, like it was in the original?

Played the demo. Good graphics and good performance. Gameplay seems harder than the original and somehow more sluggish. You can now sneak up on enemies to stab them from behind, not that it's any use in the opening level where you're forced to fight them all anyway. For some reason the graphics options have the choice to use FSR 1 or 2 - why would anyone use 1? They should've included XESS and DLSS instead.

This is the same trash as the original game where you roam around smashing barrels and looting shit and shooting boring enemies. Derivative as fuck. Facial animations are almost non-existent as Leon's face has the dynamic range of a plank of wood. Crapcom need to stop shilling their gay RE engine, it's really not impressive at all.

The gameplay is as anti-fun as it gets with controls so cumbersome and sluggish you feel like you are fighting the game constantly. Combine this with the extremely narrow FOV, you are in for a really shit time. 3rd person shooter RE has always been this way and I would still choose tank controls over this sloppy shit. At least fixed camera's would bring some soul back into Resident Evil. Oh wait this is mean't to be RE4, the shooting gallery RE game that had no soul to begin with. It was soulless back then, and it's twice as soulless now.

This Remake will age WORSE than the original game. I guarantee it.

Demo ran super well at QHD res and very high settings, but the mouse made camera movement look excessively jittery. Leon's hair looked better to me with the enhancements off in the examples shown in the graphics menu, but I didn't check the difference in the game because you can't change it in-game. Rendering individual hairs is still stupid with current tech. Our hair naturally bunches together.

Don't know how I feel about the movement. Felt somehow floaty. A bit. Moving sideways at least. Crouching was super gay (very low to the ground), but was able to kill the first lady (who still stands with her back to you on the left side of the town square, like in the original) stealthily by WALKING up behind her.

The music is terrible. It is mostly just noise. Original OST DLC will be required.

I didn't like that the first house was so much bigger. The original floorplan seemed more logical to me, for poor people.

OST DLC. Buy a $70 game and have to pay extra to have music that isn't shit.

But RE4 fanboys will excuse this shit every time because they are some of the biggest cucks in modern gaming today. They'll day 1 purchase everything Crapcom shits out and will defend it until the end. All they care about is another chance to play as their boy LEON, that's why RE3 remake was even more rushed than RE2 remake was. Because there was no Leon in RE3 so therefore = no beta bux. In RE2 Remake Crapcom trashed the entire beginning segment of the game (objectively the best part of the original) and instead gave us Leon in a casual jacket just so that the RE4 fanboys could LARP that they were playing RE4. It was despicable.

Watch all the reviews that come out for this game play out something like the following;

- There's missing content
- Controls are sluggish and camera is bad
- Cutscenes and facial animations pale in comparison to the original game from 2005
- Music is terrible

+ But we get to play as Leon again
10/10!

Predictable, every fucking time.

I was able to kill a few enemies with in stealth in village. You could sneak around the opening village in the original game too.

It’s definitely harder than the original. Much harder. I wouldn’t say it’s more sluggish than RE4. It’s more sluggish than RE6, but not tank controls original RE4.

Whoever is was that was worried the knife would be over powered... don’t worry. I broke my knife pretty quickly into the village fight. You aren’t going to get too much use out of it before it’s broken; at least not in the opening of the game. I was going to try to do the village without triggering the chainsaw man and my knife was gone before I brought him out.

This game could’ve used a shoulder switch so you can put the camera on the left side if need be. Not have that, or a way to hung the wall so you can look around corners can make sneaking around a bit tricky at times.

Seems like there's an easter egg on the demo. The giant double-chainsaw guy can appear randomly on the initial village assault. This guy appeared only in The Mercenaries mode from the original game.

Could've, would've, should've..

It's been almost 20 years. They could have done anything if they wanted, but they realized they don't have to because consoomers like yourself will just think about the possibilities for 2 seconds before shrugging it off and making concessions.

"It's still good for what it is"

No, it's trash. Fuck off.

Demo is great, can't wait for the full release in a few weeks.

Get sufficiently hyped.

My body is ready

Every third person shooter that doesn't have a small character centered in the bottom half of the picture should have this, but the few TPS that do relegate it to aiming with L2/L1/RMB, like Uncharted, Grand Theft Auto V, Watch Dogs, The Division, The Last of Us, Days Gone... Control was one of the only new shooters that did it right, allowing swapping all the time, easily.

I had an argument with a Last of Us fan that lasted much too long, in which I tried to explain to him why not having this feature is so limiting in a stealth action shooter with dense environments. Most players just don't see it, many having become conditioned to expect less or using a controller that makes such features feel clunkier, so studios have little reason to include it. Bet a sizable number of players swap shoulders and then are bothered not knowing how to switch back. One of this guy's arguments was that it would look awkward having Ellie on the right side of the picture, if you can believe it.

ran decently on my 1080, 13min experience. I breezed through it. I had awful mouse sensitivity issues. I found the crouch feature to be so out of place, I guess it can be good to get a few sneak kills in to conserve ammo, but this specific village fight is meant to drain you. I can see it being pretty neat to dodge projectiles, but you already have tools to parry them so...
same trash as the original game

And here we have the common RE4 fanboy in his natural habitat, where he cannot possibly fathom the simple fact that someone out there doesn't love his favorite game as much as he does. To him, RE4 being the GOAT is an objective fact that he and his fellow fanboys will circlejerk themselves over until the end of time.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble mates but I'm not in your Leon loving faggot club, never was and never will be. My only purpose here is to inform everyone on how objectively decline RE4 was and continues to be for this franchise. I will never tire and I'll never go away.

I can't imagine what made them think it was a good idea to kill the wolf off early, except the desire not to be predictable, which I would consider an error in judgement.

The first house being small and only having one resident lead better to what came after, the town square. They shouldn't have front-loaded the horror like that.

The resolution in the PS4 version suck ass, but overall it was decent. I didn't like how the parry decreases the knife's durability tho, the parrying window is already very short, so it's a better idea to sidestep the enemies' attacks instead of risking a successful parry.

It doesn't help that the horror pieces are extremely generic (look at this mutilated animal! Look at these letters painted in blood!)

Probably the current baby brained era of “Oh doggo, can you pet the dog” bullshit we’re in now with these forced stock reactions gamers have to dogs in video games now. Remember when that game Wargroove changed the dog death animation to the dog running away because a few bitches acted dramatic about it? Killing the dog here, or at least seemingly killing him, seems like a amusing reaction to the current era of gaming we’re in.

At the least, it seems like Luis has replaced the dog somewhat. Although we don’t know yet if you run into the dog at some different place.

Played the demo. It's fine I guess, technically very slick.... but also kinda pointless? Tube-Levels and face shooting is a major step back.

Unpopular Opinion: Resident Evil 7 was the only good modern RE game Capcom made, at least up to the Baker farm. The tone was down-on-Earth, and the puzzles and level design very sublime.

Then they ruined it with Big mommy titties and Vampire clichees and drunk Appalachian men that are impossible to shoot. Unfun, over the top, just stupid. The RE2 Rermake was just servicable, the third was trash.

This better be the last remake. They need to reboot the series.
