Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Code Veronica is one my fav, after RE 2 original. Never understood why it's so disliked. Here on Codex and other places. I found it campy fun with good tank-control combat, and it's also a pretty large game. Claire is also cute.

I really disliked the switch from pre-rendered backgrounds to fully (ugly) 3d environs in CV. It allowed them to do some fancier stuff with the camera but felt like a certain something was missing.

It's because it was on Dreamcast which nobody played.

I loved the og RE4 and I liked (without turning me crazy) the remake's demo. But reading reviews...are we back on 2005...when RE4 was considered a survival horror game because some reason? It's the hype or I'm missing something? is the remake's final version so different? Did I play the wrong demo xD ? I mean, how is this game different from shooters like F.E.A.R, Doom, The Suffering or even RE5? I understand with the first Dead Space game (for example) but...in a game where you are a superagent who kicks "zombies" asses, cracks bad jokes, finds ammo and supossed to kill everything in a awesome way all the time?

Again, am I missing something?

Resident evil 4 is an action horror game. There's no resource management in the same extent that classic RE. In RE4 enemies drop ammo, healing items and money to improve your weapons and to buy stuff. Also, the game is completely streamlined in terms of level design. With very simplistic riddles, barely backtracking. Key items no longer use space on the inventory case, they have an own separate section, etc. In terms of horror the game tries to be scary during certain sections (Village during night time,Novistators,Regenerators,Ashley's playable section). The remake has the same formula, and is also similar to Village.

Journos opinions are discarded. There's a game magazine calling the remake "the best RE of all time" because you can suplex grannies. So you can expect the level of their criteria.

Some of you are actually crying about the removal of QTEs lol.

What contrarianism does to a mf
Krauser fight is definitely inferior, now you have a glorified cutscenes with press x to parry with a huge parry window while Krauser spouts dialogue at you and while you knife away at him, it's absolutely worse than the original, even if the original was a qte, it was well directed and it looked great, one small mistake got your throat cut, here, you can pause mid battle and heal after Krauser shanks you 10 times, it's shit

Code Veronica's not that bad. It's just by far the worst of the original-style RE games. At least RE0 has great visuals. I still have yet to finish either of them, though.

I already won the QTE debate on page 12 of this thread so I won't bother going over it again :positive:
