Is it true that you can enter an area, go back to the previous area and shoot the enemies in the next area through the door without them coming at you?
There are certain places where this works yes, but not all areas or doors. In places there are locations where the ai won't go through the doors threshold so while it's open they drop agro and you can shoot them.

No, or at least not in a consistent way. The moments I tried to do it the enemies that crossed the door kept their agro.

Finished it. 18.2 hours.

Really enjoyed it. New characterisation and expanded backstory were great.

Lots of references to RE5 towards the end, so I'm going to assume we'll see both RE9 and a Remake of 5 next.

Man they're gonna have to work hard to make 5 salvagable. But considering the general strength of new RE releases, I have some modicum of faith. In an RE5 remake. Imagine that.

Not the biggest RE fan so gonna pick this up on sale, but it does look very promising.
There won't be a RE5 remake because 1) the game was divisive among fans; 2) a remake would split the playerbase in two (I can still easily find players in the PS4 version)

I'm curious to see what Capcom will do with RE now that they milked all the nostalgia.

Hell there are even certain places where a door isn't needed. You can see this in action in the zone before the village where the cop gets toasted. Run past the pitchfork ganados waiting in ambush by the truck and go all the way to the door that leads to the village but don't go in, turn around and you will see they stop chasing at the tool shed and walk off. You can backstab a few enemies this way. Noticed the same thing on my professional run with the first time you encounter the head tentacles after the lake monster, they won't go inside the cave with the puzzle.

It might also be possible with the segment after the factory where you meet the merchant for the first time but I haven't tested it yet so I can't really say.

There won't be a RE5 remake
They way they set up the ending for this remake obviously shows they are going to remake 5.

Yes, they did everything short of a "To be continued..." with the ending.
Well, I guess now they're getting to the games that might actually be improved with some remakes (RE5 and 6). I actually kinda like RE5, though, and I'm not holding my breath on the new one being better. I also doubt the new RE engine's ability to do co-op as well as RE5 did.

When you leave an area the enemies stop chasing you, but they keep their agro and as soon you return they attack you again. You can see this on action in this video, from 1:39:35 to 1:41:00

As I said, I tried to do it in different areas for getting cheap kills and the results are inconsistent. As soon as they stop chasing you the enemies run back quickly to their original positions, making it hard getting cheap kills (Although it depens of the zone. You might get some easy kills on the tunnel area). I tried to do it earlier today in the novistators section too, through the great door. They move and fly out of sight quickly, and I was only able to kill one of them in a cheap way once.

Insert Title Here Strap Yourselves In I helped put crap in Monomyth
For some reason, Resident Evil always brings the vocal autistic minority screeching to the theme of their misery out of the woodwork.
Some of us know the difference between quality, trash, garbage, and shit.

Just look at the laser sight. It doesn't even grow large when you point it up close to objects. It's totally fake as it basically just replaces your crosshair.

But no, you're just part of the vocal autistic minority if you notice the decline and don't mindlessly buy the game day 1 give it a 10/10 and shill it. It's fucking upside down world.
less realistic lasersights stand out far less than badly programmed water reflections that you see in cryengine or whatever, or zero effort mirror reflections in newer games

RE5 is a genuinely good game. Literally one of the best couch co-op games there is, fun with friends at home doesn't get much better. Those that disagree or think it needs to be "salvaged" simply lack perspective. It's not true Resident Evil, the entire story is insanely cringey, color palette is a bit dull, but the gameplay is fucking solid (in couch co-op setting) and that absolutely trumps all, unless you're some kind of soy boy retard faggot.
Solid bundle of shooting, cooperation, resource management, treasure hunting, puzzles, weapon progression, and heaps of fun gameplay gimmicks constantly thrown in for variety, just like RE4.

Yeah...which would be fine if the series started as a coop dude bro mindless action game but it didn't so it is good for one play through with some fag then never again. CAN'T WAIT FOR BOULDER PUNCHING REMAKE.

I replayed RE5 with my friend earlier this year.

It's insane how Capcom have managed to take "RE4 but in Africa", and then turn it into one of the best co-op action games around. Really goes to show how mechanically rock-solid RE4's foundation was. All the more strange how they ditched it and made... RE6.

:killitwithfire:

I bet you can't wait to lick some modern industry dev boots and support further soulless remaking, creative bankruptcy and selling out. At this point it seems we're going to be stuck in a bizzaro world loop of infinite remakes, and remakes of the remakes, no actual new games. It's embarrassing to share the same hobby with most of you. :smug:

Browsing this disgusts me every time: https://store.steampowered.com/charts/topselling

Also, the top 4 games in that list are shitty remakes lol

Well, I kind of agree with him (the "reviewer") but for different reasons. I don't care for panty shots per se but along with other fun interactions they were part of RE4's goofy charm and "Japanese perviness". The original devs knew people will try to look under her skirt so they programmed all those easter eggs, the remake just feels soulless and made by the numbers in comparison.

Thoroughly enjoying the remake so far. Up to chapter 10. I really like what they did with the treasures & combining the gems into them, with different bonuses and shit. Or maybe it was that way in the original already and I don't remember.

Is there any way to spot the invisible bugs before they jump at you? I seem to remember that in the OG you could see their floating eyes.

The original was just straightforward adding the right components to up the value of the item. It didn't have the duo/trio bonuses etc.

there was a bonus if all three gems have different color.
There was also a bigger variety of socketed gems ("eyes", "catseyes", "gems", "stones", "jewels", etc).

In the original, my memory was you couldn't add a duplicate gem colour. So for example you couldn't add three green cateyes to the Beerstein.

So...like the last two remakes then?

I want those ranked unlocks gone. You could unlock everything in the original without being graded. Exception was the Mercenaries mode, whose plays were short enough that I didn't mind acing them all. But a whole playthrough? Nah. The Japanese obsession with grades in games is tiresome.
