RE2 Remake and RE4 Remake play exactly the fucking same right down to the movement animations and shooting mechanics.
I haven't played this remake so I don't know how similar it is to RE2 remake. But if stuff like movement animations and aiming mechanics is enough for two games to play exactly the same, then I guess RE4 plays exactly the same as RE1-3 because it uses the same control scheme. But last time I checked, you didn't fight dozens of enemies at once, do crowd controlling karate kicks, or pick up gold bars dropped by enemies in the RE2 remake, and personally I find that stuff a little bit more significant than movement animations.

What are you talking about? Women love coomer shit. A ton of franchises have had their success because of women looking for coomer shit, it's nothing new. They just don't like it when (you) are a coomer.

But some weirdos keep crying about some jokes being removed.
More like a general frustration about the state of the video gaming industry as a whole. Where a Japanese video game company is actively censoring bAd words and little bits of fanservice for the sake of not losing EGS money, and not angering the must useless human beings on earth, aka video game journalists and progressive Twitter mouth breeders.

I wish the RE3 Remake team did this game like how it was originally planned, they understand more about action games.
So frustrating that Crapcom just shipped that game off to die with zero fucks given. The gameplay foundation built there was basically perfect. This game gets two DLCs pretty much confirmed at launch.

RE4 was a landmark release, more than 3 I'd say. Perhaps that influenced Capcom's attitude. It's still a RE game at its core. I remember the mod that fixed the camera and it played exactly like the previous games.

Why would they, people buy it and excuse everything Capcom does.

Unlocked professional. Gets really absurd when you shoot a low tier ganados in the head 3 times and they don't stagger.

Krauser fight is going to be ridiculous with no checkpoints and perfect parry requirements.

Crapcom is the greatest love/hate relationship in gaming. It's still every bit that smokin hot goddess that popped your cherry way back in the day but now it does not care about you. Not only that but it goes out of it's way to hurt your feelings and make your life miserable. A true succubus.

That was terrible. RE7 had a season pass, and a free story DLC. RE2 had some preorder costumes,weapons and also a free DLC adding more survivor campaigns. Village received a story DLC + characters for the mercenaries mode. RE3 remake had just two costumes as DLC, one being just a hairstyle (Carlos), all the support went to the multiplayer game that was dead on arrival. :betrayed:

I like to point out that the devs added content to Village "by popular demand", according to themselves. Meanwhile the seem to have completely ignored the criticism to RE3 for lacking duration.

I think Capcom just wanted to wash their hands of RE3 remake ASAP. I've no idea how well it sold, though I doubt it sold as well as RE2 considering the lukewarm/negative reception it received almost straight away.

Is the team that made RE3 Remake even active? I know they were removed from the remake of 4 but I don't remember hearing anything past that.

Zombies were faster and dropped what you needed. You were encouraged to kill them rather to avoid them.

The game is kinda pervy sometimes: Ashley's boobs have jiggle physics, the camera points at Ada's ass everytime she gets on screen (Her booty almost transparents), the female cultists wear highheels under the robes, etc. But some weirdos keep crying about some jokes being removed.
but a camera shot of a piece of cloth is too far for them.

It's ok. The murdered people consented to the gratuitous violence and it's part of deep character development.

My favourite part of the epic tale of Doomguy is when he comes to terms with his past and picks up the BFG to allow entire screens to consent at once.

I finished the game, took me around 19 hrs on Hardcore (I tried to explore every nook and cranny, managed to find every treasure in the game, but missed a bunch of breakable Salazar figurines).

Things that were cut in the village chapters:
- cable car segment (you can see cable car in the distance, so maybe it got cut for pacing reasons);
- rolling boulder segment (replaced with an explosive avalanche QTE);
- split path between el gigante and chainsaw ladies (now there's only one path, the one with chainsaw ladies);
- no rusty truck sequence;

Things that were cut in the castle chapters:
- Salazar's moving statue was turned into a tiny collectible thingy. There's a similar Salazar statue that you encounter shortly before the final boss of the castle, but it doesn't move except for its head
- clocktower segment where you must locate and shoot pieces of wood that stuck in cogs;
- Garrador cage fight (the cage is still in the game, but it only shows up in a cutscene and used to split Leon and Ashley);
- sewers (novistadors were relocated to a very short underground section before Verdugo);
- lava room with fire-breathing dragon statues;
- spiked ceiling trap and tunnel-boring machine trap;
- cultist manning a turret (replaced by an armored el gigante throwing rocks at you in the castle battlements);
- desert-themed catacombs under the castle (now there are only two short minecart segments, and a novistador hive);

Things that were cut in the island segment:
- no laser hallway (the throne room is still in the game, it just got relocated to the castle);
- no Ashley driving a bulldozer (bulldozer and wrecking ball segments were merged together into a separate section where you must defend Ashley while she's operating a machine);
- no crane game in the waste treatment plant;
- no suspended cages segment and no U3 bossfight. However, the game has a very notable memo item that describes U-3. Why would devs even put it into the game if not to tease U3 for the upcoming Ada DLC?

Mechanical downgrades:
- sluggish and overly realistic movement system;
- indestructible wooden doors;
- incendiary grenades (the game has fire/burning effects, so grenade was likely cut for redundancy reasons);
- Ashley's AI (you can no longer order her to wait in one place, I found certain sections of the game to be way harder because of that as she kept getting herself killed);
- Ashley's health (her AI is dumber, so my guess is that devs removed her healthbar after playtesters complained that she kept getting damaged);
- minecart section is way worse - the ride itself is very short, you can't move while in the cart, all enemies die in one hit except for a chainsaw freak, and you also have infinite ammo (because the devs had to prevent players from running out of ammo).

I'm also pretty sure that "Assignment Ada" is cut too, and unlike "Mercenaries" and "Separate Ways", it's not going to be patched-in at a later date.

It was already fairly well known, but Luis gets a lot more screen time in the remake. They also expanded his backstory fairly significantly.

I felt his death (not really a spoiler I should hope since it was inevitable), hit harder than the original.

Yeah, as with RE3 Remake, Capcom writers put a lot more effort into characterization.

Luis is a much better character now, Krauzer (despite a weaker voice) too. I quite liked his second bossfight where he goes full Dolph Lundgren from Universal Soldier, and starts ranting about american gubermint betraying him during the Darkside Chronicles campaign.

Finished it. 18.2 hours.

Really enjoyed it. New characterisation and expanded backstory were great.

Lots of references to RE5 towards the end, so I'm going to assume we'll see both RE9 and a Remake of 5 next.

Is it true that you can enter an area, go back to the previous area and shoot the enemies in the next area through the door without them coming at you?

Man they're gonna have to work hard to make 5 salvagable. But considering the general strength of new RE releases, I have some modicum of faith. In an RE5 remake. Imagine that.

Not the biggest RE fan so gonna pick this up on sale, but it does look very promising.
