The combat is best disregarded altogether.

Sadly, a lot of the endgame is combat only because Troika ran out of time to do something more. I think the boss fights are important though as without them the whole story makes little sense, but killing hundreds of goons before? I discussed this a lot with people on the GOG board and decided to add some endgame shortcuts in the upcoming UP 9.9, similar to the one I provided for the warrens after even Boyarsky suggested it should be shorter :). Of course only for the plus version and restricted by either high Persuasion or other conditions so people won't stumble onto them during a first playthrough...

I'd reccomend Nosferatu first and Malk second. To experiencethe Malk memes you should keep low Humanity, which is something people often forget to mention. A Malk with high Humanity mostly gets a funny dialogue font and nothing else.

Nos can be a fun first experience

1. If not for the fact that Malk got more contents in dialog. By a hair, admitedly, but still.

2. If you dont mind your character look like a hairless monkey.

So yeah, I never recommend Nos.

Yeah I felt the same thing when I was fighting 300 Chinamen.
Killing mobs gives neither XP nor loot, there's no reason to kill them all, especially if you don't like it. Just use obfuscate or sneak.

While this works fine for normal humans, a lot of the supernatural enemies in the endgame have something internally called "true sight", like Auspex or similar, and can see you nevertheless...

A half nekkid female with a japanese sword, thrust at them from behind. It's the reason to kill them all..

Is it possible to reach this "endgame" you speak of? I always hit game-breaking glitches in the midgame.

Guess it's about time to try it again and see...

Who is this guy? He reminds me a lot of a Centauri from Babylon 5 on a bad hair day :)!

Of course, that's what making the patch is all about ;). If you notice any glichtes report them here,
maybe we can fix them. But as a warning beforehand, the game get's glitchier the longer your gaming
sessions are and there is nothing we can do about this yet! So if something really weird happends,
exiting the game and relaunching it again sometimes fixes it...

None of the gooks in the Kuei jin temple have that and that's what he complained about. Hollowbrook hotel Sabbat have a number of guys with auspex (easily recognizable by the effect around their head) who will see you through obfuscate but sneak still helps to an extent. Headshot them with the sniper rifle? Insta-kill them with some discipline like animalism? Yes, Bloodlines has a number of unavoidable mobs that you have to kill, but nowhere near 300 in the temple alone.

BTW, any news on that mod your friend (Schreck?) is working on?

EntenSchreck is currently busy working on a oilrig map as far as I know. I only helped him out with the modified museum and empire hotel maps which are needed in the sarcophagus story. But besides that I have already seen a prototype of the new hub, a sewer level, an oilfield level and I finished details on an abandoned church map for him ;)!

Sadly, a lot of the endgame is combat only because Troika ran out of time to do something more.

Actually you can see the problems already happening in chapter 2.
The entire main quest line is one fight after another without any diplomacy or stealth options.Hell the bishop fight is one giant fuck you if you have been going for stealth melee or diplomacy skills.
In fact i would rate holy wood as much better then chapter 2 and what comes after considering the options you have during both side and main quests.
They probably focused all they had on Santa Monica and after that lost steam.Even if future chapters were more in line of the first one it would still be disappointing compared the excellent first chapter.

The main quest in Downtown is mostly talking and stealth: The Last Round, Elisabeth Dane, Grout's Mansion and the museum. Bishop is part of an optional side quest.

How is this Antitribu mod i was looking on youtube? Deserves a complete playthrough? Generally I'm inclined to play only unmodded games, but I love that vampire sheit, and havin more RP and clan options would be cool

A lot of pretty cool new things are added, but it's quite bugged and rather unbalanced. Guns are absurdly lethal, in total contrast with the VtM lore, so you'll have a harder time against two regular hunters with automatic rifles than most boss fights. The new Disciplines are pretty great when they work properly and don't bug out. The new quest content is of dubious quality and has some of the most broken English I've ever seen. If by "RP options" you refer to the mod advertising being able to join the Sabbat, that was cut completely. I've played the mod about a year ago the last time around, though, so they might've added it.

Despite all the shortcomings, I found the overhauled combat and all the new content very much worth two additional playthroughs. Keep in mind, however, that VtMB is the love of my life, so your own mileage may vary.

If a new VtM come out in a few years, would you people prefer it Isometric or First/Person? What studio could manage to do it? I think Obsidian is the most probable

Isn't in the making or something? I remember seeing trailer about such game during the e3 period. Answer to your question, third/first person as rest of the games. Still wouldn't pass the topdown one to.
