Kaito Files completed, total playtime of Lost Judgment is 97 hours.
It was some really good additional content with its own personality and detached story. Kaito ranks in the top 3 of favorite protagonists for me now, after Majima and Saejima. I wouldn't mind playing a full game with him. As a character plot-wise, he was actually an unholy combination of simp and cuck, as is the case with pretty much all Yakuza main characters, but he's really enjoyable to actually witness, since he at least offers a couple quandaries and independent thought. And it was fun to see the return of the Beast fighting style (rebranded as Tank) from Y0.

They were never written by Hase Seishu, he was just an advisor. All the stories have been written (or the plot at least drawn up) by the current chief of RGG studios, Yokoyama. It's just that recently it seems starting with 0, he has someone else actually write the whole story out properly while he just drafts the key plot points and themes.

Getting towards the end of Kiwami. 0 was definitely better, but Kiwami has been good overall.

Boss fights feel a bit artificially extended with the heals that bosses get in this one. I felt the boss fights in 0 were a lot better.

Real gamers don't buy full price games where the devs couldn't be assed to even work on basic features like controls.

personally I found that the majima everywhere gimmick runs extremely thin towards the end of the game and I had to start actively avoiding him just to be spared yet another encounter

Most Yakuzas are generally full of middling ladies, Y:LaD is the only real exception and has plenty of attractive ladies in it. Lost Judgment is decent in this regard to I suppose. Been a while but I think Y0 was not bad.

That's the really easy mode.^ I finished the asura mode earlier today. I haven't tried the extra hard one that isn't part of the completion list as the hard mode is brutal enough.

I'm having a shitton of fun, despite my dislike of the UE engine usage. Cutscenes being 30fps is also totally crappy. Other than that, this is like playing a Yakuza 4-5 style game all over again. It's a blast. If you're a fan of the series, grab it. If you disliked previous games, I doubt that this will win you over.

I am trying to use all fighting styles to get level ups in all of them. The dancer style is incredibly fun to use, with the gun/sword combo, and it's easy to evade. Gun style is hilarious when you fight weak enemies, because you just melt their health before they even reach you.

So are the influencer/internet personality references limited to the DLC for ishin, or are they in the base game too?

Really enjoyed Kiwami 2. No artificially extended boss fights and combat mostly felt very smooth on the new engine (removal of styles I gather is fairly controversial though. Seems to be mods that restore this, though I enjoyed it regardless).

Majima saga provided a nice bit of bittersweet closure to a certain character's arc from Yakuza 0.

K2 felt so refreshing after Kiwami 1 felt like enemy health bars were just endless. If youre just going through the series now and planning on playing 3 soon I'll just say set expectations accordingly. It's got a decent story, but coming off of Kiwami 2 made 3's combat feel like the worst of any RGG game I'd played to date.
