Works great on the standalone too.
I haven't even started exploring how to pirate oculus native games, I don't suppose it's easy, so native is out of the question for now.

It is easy actually. Just need to activate developers mode and use side quest. It also used to play standalone quest ports like Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake 2, Jedi Academy etc from Dr Beef.

I never had problems like yours - no headache, i can stand easily for multiple hours and don't get disoriented easily. If you having motion sickness there are comfort options in most if not all games, and you can always play in 30 min to 1 hour sessions before you get used to it. I also got few suggestions from youtube:

Strap your link cable like this if you are playing wired, then it's less of an annoyance and the port is harder to damage. I use Bobovr m2 strap myself, but it's universal.

Also put a small rug in the middle of the room to always know where you are while playing.

As for games, i liked TWD Sains and Sinners, Half Life 2 VR mod, Modded Skyrim VR is insane, Alyx was alright, Into The Radius, Paradox of Hope (got sabotaged by Metro publisher so dev rebranded it as ConVRgence with some changes) and some others. I have a thread in this subforum for vr action games.

And don't buy link cable that is too cheap, mine was eventually damaged and i had connection issues.

I have some other suggestions but i leave them for later. Gotta go.

I see some videos from Cybergunk VR etc and people just move with a thumbstick. Isn't it a problem?
Same with you I nearly fell over the first time. It did take about 2 weeks for the balance, headache issues to go away fully. I still find VR a bit uncomfortable but it's regular discomfort instead of progressively becoming sick.

Haven't played a lot of games. While getting used to VR I played a lot of Hot Dogs Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Take and Hold mode. More chaotic than I would like but shooting is fun and the game doesn't involve moving around much. Alyx is good. For melee combat I tend to play GORN over Blade and Sorcery as it's easier to get in and out and doesn't have people running at you all the time, and less nauseating early on as well.

So how is the Quest 3? Worth giving Zuck more bucks?

Or is there anything better that isn't 3 fucking thousand dollaroos?

I'm still on quest 2. Great shit. Low price. Can pirate games, can play standalone vr ports and install apps on it. Almost every issue i've had with it was fixable, from controller drifting to inability to update due to meta ban in my country (you can just update firmware manually from pc lol). And considering at how many times i see steam threads like "My knock off headset\pico4 is not supported" i will just switch to Q3 at some point. Unless Valve makes their next headset not overpriced pos, but there are 0 chances of this happening.

Going to try Behemoth soon btw.

It's great. Unfortunately nothing else is worth buying ATM, even those 1K+ headsets are inferior to Quest 3 despite of the price. The new Valve VR controllers just leaked and supposedly they're already in production so hopefully Valve announces something soon. There's also PSVR2 with great exclusives and PC adapter but the display clarity is shit compared to Quest. It has better colors due OLED but also higher persistence so more ghosting on the image.

Hey bros my gpu decided to retire and now need to buy a new one. I had an rtx 2070. What gpu should I get? I only have 1080p monitors so any high end gpu should be fine for flat games but 2070 was struggling with some vr titles.

I don't play any games right now other than Metro Awakening (and soon i'll get the Behemoth). Pirated it of course and i'm roughly halfway through. It's not shit but unsurprisingly disappointing game i'm glad i didn't buy considering the atrocious sanction price. Lack of guns, lack of enemies, lack of interactivity with objects, same looking levels even for metro, only visited surface once for about 30 minutes so far the rest were corridors. Here you can play for an entire hour walking through identical asset corridors and kill maybe 3 rats and 2 bandits, collect the same randomized loot you have in abundance most of the time, there are entire levels of just walking sometimes. And 70% of the time some dipshit npc talks your ears off on the walkie talkie. First your boss, then your annoying mentally ill wife, then some imaginary snarky girlboss and protagonist Khan never shuts the fuck up either. On top of that voice acting is the cringiest trash ever, unless you are into grating exaggerated slav accents. lol what were the devs thinking?

I know original games were as linear as they come, but they were tightly packed not just ocassional rats and bandits and definitely not bombarded with cringe radio dialogue.

On positive side the game sometimes nails the horror atmosphere of originals, but overall doesn't feel as grimdark. The action and controls are well polished and fun for VR. You almost never grab something you're not supposed to. The enemies are not complete retards and can flank you, shoot well for the most part and can easily evade your grenades etc, but nothing out of ordinary.

Got the Quest 3 and while it's amazing, I want all Youtube reviewers/influencers that covered this thing to fucking die horribly. More on that later.

I got it mainly for PC games, (will test out PS5 stuff later) and I haven't even played any PC games apart from Subnautica. Been too busy running native Faceberg Store stuff. Got Batman Arkham Origins for free with it, 10/10 would projectile vomit again. Resolution is not great but that was expected, it's running a phone processor after all.

My only complaint is that the passthrough looks like absolute ASS. Like when you did a handstand for too long or get up too quickly, that blurry vision. It looks like that all the time. It's possible to read phone and computer screens but only barely and from very close. Not one single review mentioned this and they all show perfectly clear footage in AR games. All they say is it's a "big improvement over the Quest 2". LOL, I can't even imagine how that must look. How can something with this many (supposedly modern) cameras give you an image that looks worse than a 2004 Motorola flip phone? You kind of get used to it but it's really shit to never even mention it in a review.

Imagine paying SEVEN TIMES the price for some crapple ivision pro maxx lol

I am still enjoying Asgard's Wrath 2, and it has become my go-to for casual enjoyment on the VR. Environments look amazing, the cities especially look incredible, I find myself pausing at certain places just to admire everything. The world itself is big, I find myself getting lost the few times I start pushing ahead in the story.

And I appreciate how they put some thought into AI behavior in this game. I watched a giant scorpion wander too close to a camp of darkspawn-looking creatures and they started fighting. Eventually the scorpion decided to burrow into the sand to safety. I wander too close, and enemies start coming out of their tents. It feels more natural and less video-gamey, and I like that.

Combat feels fluid and natural and doesn't reward frantic movements, you want to be smart especially when getting surrounded. Things like wielding a shield will properly hinder your swinging, no clipping b.s here, which again, I appreciate.

This game tells me that a proper, Dragon Age Origins style RPG is 100% possible on current VR hardware, it could look breathtaking, and hell, I could see a real time with pause system working well for the ones who prefer strategy to anything action related.

Poseidon00 you play it on quest 2 or 3?
playing it on a Quest 3, it's a distinct visual upgrade from 2 but it's definitely not needed for a good experience in VR.

I was just curious how it would look on Q2 since there are no pcvr version. The first Asgard's Wrath has pc version and it is sized 130gb. Which is just... lmao.

Both of them are on my list to play in the future so i will just pirate. But i would rather start with first.

Jesus Christ I never would have guessed lol

Asgard's Wrath 2 is definitely not that size, I don't think it's even close.

I can't access *any* of my PCVR stuff right now because no PC, so I was running low on options. Asgard is holding me over atm

I know it should be possible to connect wirelessly to steam deck, the specs of the device should support it just fine, but i don't think anyone has figured it out, so that's not gonna happen.

Not much reason to play vr games and just sit all the time. I have full steam library of flat games if i want that.

Unless your spacing doesn't allow you to play VR games adequately... or unless it's a racing\flight game. Then it makes sense.

There is also Moss i guess where you don't have to stand, because you are disembodied entity that controls a fucking skaven and solves puzzles. But i've seen very few games of this type for vr and most of them are low tier indie.

There is something wrong with the game if you need to stand up.
