Considering purely gameplay-wise, Risen is probably the most solid of all PB titles.

A very arguable opinion.

I consider it on a level somewhere between G1 and G2, with the same fundamental pitfall as those two: a wealth of possibilities and freedom of choice in acts 1 and 2, which run out during act 3 and totally disappear in act 4, where you essentially go through the motions in a very linear manner.

Gameplay is more than questing and exploration, in this case I was referring mainly to Risen's combat system, which is certainly the best of all PB titles. Besides, Risen was the only PB title that almost managed to pull off a good endgame because the well-paced dungeon crawling, combined with said excellent combat system, was very enjoyable, compared to endgames of other PB titles.

Which was great. I really liked that i got some solid combat in the game and got to use all the stuff i learned.

This is not necessarily a bad thing especially considering it hasent been changed. It is simply the way game is designed, i personally think it works, it would be dumb to have anything other then the main quest and maybe 1-2 wrap ups in act 4.

For me honestly this is one of the best cover I have ever seen for a game

it is very simple yet makes you want to see more so I quite like the new one it seems a bit in the spirit

Nothing, and it's telling how many of the people here were up in arms that the protagonist wasn't Brad Pitt.

Bros, one of the best parts of any Gothic (and Risen 1) was that the protag was an ugly fuck. Ugly on the outside, ugly on the inside. He was a cynical jaded ass and I liked having his mullet and rat tail ass begrudgingly save the world or whatever.

Fuck ya'll for being pussies. The first bald neckbeard was great and I hope I can still play the ugly cunt.

HELPS WITH THE IMMERSION

Armor designs so far are reminiscent of Witcher 1/2. That's not bad, some of the armor designs in Witcher were dope. Some of the towns folk looked goofy as hell, but some of the armor/soldiers looked good and still "believable" (whatever the fuck that means in a fantasy game).

To be honest, the cover art looks a bit amateur to me - linework and coloring almost look like they were taken out of a webcomic. I like the art direction, though, it looks very European and not over the top. Also, thank Innos for taking away the hero's neckbeard

I hope the game will be more Gothic-like rather than Risen2-like, but at this point I have lost almost all faith in Pb. And to think that there was a time when I thought they can do no wrong.

Besides wasn't the only thing that is left of the old Pb practically the name?

Most of their games are first edition. Unfortunately Risen didn't get a Notr add-on.

*First Edition*

What does that even mean.

Probably no DLC.

The other way around, I imagine. Why have a "first" edition if there are going to be no other ones?
