i "like" how they're not even trying to justify the price this time. for stw2 they tried (and unfortunately succeeding) to justify the price with "we have to 'cause otherwise we'd have to change the rating". which would've been ok if they sold it for something like 0,2-0,5€/$, but they sold it for a whopping 1,8€! i guess it sold really well 'cause they're selling for ~40% more while the game is 3 times the clusterfuck all their other games were, combined, and almost the whole internet is raging at them for being greedy scammers. hopefully they crash and burn this time for good

Rich bastards who wanna see blood, should pay money for it. I really don't understand why are you thinking ANY money should be paid for that blood pack DLC.

apparently, to avoid changing the rating of the game (of course, i'm not convinced that's the only option, but some countries are particularly fussy about those things, like germany and australia, so, at least for that, i'm giving them the benefit of the doubt)

Yes, but they should release it as a free DLC after release.

but that's the thing. if they release it for free, they need to pull the game and change the rating. iirc, australia threw a hissy fit and banned the game on steam or something when the stw2 blood pack came out. if they charge something (or provide an alternative method of age verification), then the gods of the rating boards are appeased. if they had some integrity, they'd charge 0,01 moniez to show they care. this way they show just that they're greedy bastards

No, that's all bullshit. It comes down to CA/Sega wanting money.

just checked, blood pack is (or at least it was on release) banned in ozzieland. that it's just them wanting money, i've made perfectly clear in my posts. if they really stood behind their "we need to make it paid because of rating otherwise it would've been free", then it would've been something symbolic like 0,1 or even 0,01 moniez, like i already said

CA is a business who are trying to make money. Ofcourse they charge for the dlc. Whether that's inherently a good or bad thing is an old discussion. What's different here is that Rome 2 is still in a horrible shape. They're probably trying to recoup some money through it from all the extra dev time and whatever fuckery made them release the game as unfinished as it is. For a customer who paid good money for a game that's still unfinished and still has an AI that's simply incapable of handling itself it's however insulting to see them release extra content without them having fixed the game to a fully playable state.

To be fair, I doubt they would fix the game any faster if they told the artists working on this DLC to stop making gore textures and fix bugs in the code instead.

that could be a more compelling experience than playing with keyboard and mouse.

I really don't see a problem with this. The steam controller is supposed to be pretty good at emulating a mouse + KB setup so who knows? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

I'm an optimist in general but wholly pesimistic they'll ever improve on the AI, what with all the "more important" stuff on their plate like churning out DLCs, making the game available for the 16 potential gamers on Linux or implementing a controller friendly UI.

Firaxis haven't done a thing about their retarded combat AI since the Civ5 launch exactly 3 years ago.

The problem is that the game was already diagnosed with consolitis (on top of its bigger problems) and as quoted above they denied that consoles were responsible for things like their ugly/horribad UI. If nothing else this won't help the company's image with its longtime fans who are already upset that such a widely hyped game is so fundamentally broken.

I don't see how the RTW2 UI is designed for consoles, it's horribad because it doesn't tell you enough information and a lot of stuff is hidden behind submenus that are not needed at all. It's a shitty UI because they're dumbfucks who tried to reinvent the wheel, not because of consoles.
