That’s the difference, we played it not just looked at it. It isn’t “seems” for us, it’s “is”.seem

First part is deep and complex with an intriguing plot, second part is "dude here's 3 posters to put on town buildings" quest like , disapointed people rate more harshly.Half the number of voters that we've been getting the past few years. Maybe half our usual crowd didn't care about this year's games and maybe a good chunk of them gave up when they saw that bloated list. Four games got 0 votes period and over 50 got a single digit number of votes. Like I said a while ago, the list of games should be restricted to those that have had a thread with multiple pages worth of discussion. A goty poll is not the time or place for "exposure" for a bunch of RPGs no one gave a damn about for most of a year.
Anyway congratulations to the Archolos fans for successfully downvoting Wrathfinder into second place. And RIP Encased for screwing up a Fallout clone for the Codex of all places.
How does Encased not meet up to quality standards? It' setting and options seem way more interesting then another mundane post apoc barren empty world like Atom RPG Trudeaudrad.
it's rigged anyways so your vote doesn't matterAs usual, I had no idea the poll was going on, and as usual, the Codex likes shit.
Was this the poll that non-Codex people from twitter were allowed to vote in?

Are they continuing to add more content and tweak quests and gameplay to improve it? There continuing sales and publisher should give them the resources to keep improving and fill out the second half of the game would be the hope there.
I see. So the actual fun things to do-aka quests as such decline heavily as the game progresses. As far as setting the beginning of Encased is definitely a more interesting setting then any other post apoc game besides Underrail since Atom RPG at least the beginning and from playthroughs appears to be another generic post apocalyptic contemporary mundane eastern European setting to, like Metalheart Replicants Rampage, Stalker, Metro, Chernogblyte etc.because the setting stops being interesting after the prologue when they trade it for generic underdeveloped fallout with damage puddles
For everyone whining about muh hidden gems:

I don't understand one thing in your reasoning. Why woke writing that exists in the game (admitted even in quoted post) but is not directly "in your face" magically stops counting as woke? Weird logic if you ask me.There are plenty of legit complaints to make about Wrath, such as the abysmal trash combat encounter spam, how many classes are still bugged months after release, the generally boring writing, or how uneven the mythic paths are (both content and character building wise), but the wokeness complaints are really overstated.
In 99% of cases you really have to interrogate NPCs for them to tell you their life stories. In many cases the "offending" stories are gated behind difficult skill checks. It isn't like Siege of Dragonspear at release where troons rush you with their life story when you ask them their name, or your companions make GamerGate jokes.
A lot of the woke bitching about WOTR reminds me of RetardEra. They do the exact same thing, scanning every inch of a game for something to offend them.

But maybe better to not make this thread into a Pathfinder wokeness discussion. It is the sheer amount of bad writing that does it for me mostly, anyway.
I made it until the last island, but I checked out when I saw the giant whirlpool. The whole island hop/ island gauntlet gave me Black and White flashbacks, and dropped it right there. Haven't started it since.you make assumption that codexers dropped the game after fort joy. Im aware of only Darth Roxor not completing 2nd island
I haven't followed the cringefinder threads closely, either the fan one or the parody one, but I don't believe I saw anyone saying what your general impression is. Rather I see lots pointing out that it is full of poor, amateurish writing and the player is "rewarded" for fulsome engagement with dialogue options by being presented naked cut-outs for modern political and sexual affinities, presumably those of the the writers and designers. My general point in that thread was if you believed a lot of the edgy hyperbole, you would think every NPC immediately opens with a rant about the evil of whiteness or trooning out. The reality really isn't anywhere near that bad.

most of the cringefinder thread is about the terrible dialogue
