The best part of this poll is when my BG3 porn parody wins the codex GOTY next year I'm gonna quote this entire thread.

You ask people on the F95 thread to come here, and it could very well happen. There's still Dragon's Dogma 2 to beat and Elden Ring DLC, however. It would be fun since the site is an internet joke anyway. I'll vote 5 without even playing it, its good sport here.

An observation: some people are clearly retarded and "forgetting" that the scale 1 to 5 also includes the timeline in one year. You weren't suppose to rate games just on the scale of 1 to 5, compared to every other RPG in existence.
Bro, it doesn't matter, even if that wasn't an issue you would still have the problem of different ratings meaning different things to people.

If anything just picking top 5 games in order of best to worst would have been better in regard to at least trying to have two ratings mean the same thing and be more comparable. But it would still be flawed because you can't expect everyone to play the 160 or so games felipepe put on the damn form let alone rank them using the same criteria.

Taking a glance at the top 10 I think only Caves of Lore kinda came out of nowhere. Looking at the graph there's also quite the remove when it comes to first five positions.

Jagged Alliance 3
Baldur's Gate III
Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game
Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader
Caves of Lore
Underrail: Heavy Duty
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
Space Wreck
Solasta: Crown of the Magister - Palace of Ice
Lies of P

Someone should redo the poll but take out all the games that got 5 or less votes and then do 10 ordered choices. See how that changes the results.

Solasta, Cyberpunk, and Underrail shouldn't qualify since they are expansions, and not even big ones. That would justly and righteously, allow Conquest Of Eo into the top 10.

By your logic I should rate every game in that poll by completely removing my past experiences which is impossible and fucking retarded.
Your opinions are based on your experiences and previous years, I won't vote 5 for a game that doesn't deserve it just because it happens to be the best in that list.

Frankly if Rogue Trader was bug free, they would throw away their love for blacks and actually properly wrote xenophobic story and do detailed world building with empire where demons could be these nice guys. And when they would make combat system where you doesn't need alpha strike.

Then Rogue Trader might end become GOTY 2023.
RT isn't an RPG. It's a text-heavy, tactical, TB game with deep lore and complex RPG build elements.
If you think it sounds too complicated, you are exactly on point.
Owlcats can't do RPGs. They can only do text-heavy, tactical....

That's exactly what you should have done, you fucking retard. If by your opinion this was a shit year, then you still should've highlight something or not vote at all. Then again, I don't mind joke ratings, it's part of the fun.

The number of average votes per voter is 25,5. Its pretty clear that barely anyone here plays that many games and that most of the votes are by retards with second hand opinions. The list with the individual user votes is somewhat useful, its just a shame that many users that actually play games are missing.
Playing 100+ games a year is an absurd expectation, let alone playing 100+ RPGs. Plus most people don't just exclusively play new releases. So it shouldn't be a surprised there's "only" 25.5 votes per voter (I guarantee you the average player has not even finished 25 2023 releases, not even close).

To all you Bear Baldur's Gate 3 fans out there, congratulations on your second place finish!

Love Walter Matthau's understated "Thank you, Sir" in this scene. This movie was almost perfect and the only downside is the number of Disneyfied ripoffs it inspired.

The 25.5 didn't even factor out all the troll votes or even non-troll didn't play but still voted votes.

Which happened, with the deserved GOTY JA3

Interested in this but I'm too retarded to understand graphs. It's showing that BG3 was votebombed by people who joined in like 2022/2023, and that people who joined earlier were generally more likely to vote it 4 or 5?
Outside of 2022, there was basically no difference by year. Well technically a very slight descent. Older players on average liked it more, but not by an enormous amount.
