Will we get Bubbles' blow-by-blow of his relationship with JarlFrank in the next update?

I think Bound by Flame was a pretty good game for what it was. The combat at least tried to be interesting and it had some soul, even if Spiders settings dont help.

Their games are amateurish, not only from a mechanics point of view but also the setting choices they make, but again bound by flame was on to something. Almost made it to the end and endured it more than the Witcher games that I cant bring myself to like. I hate Geralt face.

They gave us some surprisingly honest sales reports. If anyone was hoping for a M&M XI... well yeah. Not really.

Given the latest sales reports, I'm not surprised in the slightest, but... Pardon me while I punch a hole in a wall.

To be honest it was terribly marketed as well.

That's what I don't get. They put so little effort into it, I figured it was just them testing the waters, not that they expected 300K sales with minimal investment.

To be fair, they did wine and dine Grunker. Unfortunately this didn't have the desired impact on mass market sales.

We tend to think that AAA companies are staffed entirely by super salesmen, but Ubisoft's Might & Magic team seems a bit bottom of the barrel. Imagine what a guy like Brian Fargo would have done with that game, imagine how he could have spun Julien Pirou's story and turned him into an indie hero.

Maybe it's because they're used to marketing towards Eastern Europeans or something, I dunno.

Come to think of it, Ubisoft's PR is overall pretty bad. They thought it was a good idea to have Far Cry's lead make fun of customers who tweeted at them during their big E3 stream, and then there is that whole "30 FPS is better than 60 FPS" boondoggle in the lead up to AC Unity.

Wining and dining Codexers is a very fine idea and constitutes sound marketing for any company. Maybe they just didn't invest enough.

I asked Vavra what he thinks about the Codex.
I bet he doesn't think much of the Codex, well, I just said his game looked like a pie in the sky Skyrim knock off exactly when he was about to post about the kickstarter, I don't know if it was coincidence but after a butthurt post he didn't post anything on that thread afterwards, that was a good first impression, I guess.

Fun fact: when I introduced myself as "Frank from the Codex" he said "Ah, yes, you're the guys who hate everything!"

This report is hilarious.
I like Bubbles writing so much, I never read something fun like that about presumably quite boring game-something events for years, if ever.
This "what I feel" approach is quite refreshing. )
Bubbles and Jarl Frank finely complement each other, so keep it up guys.
