Are people selling their Star Citizenship accounts for less than what they paid to recoup some of the costs?

Yes, there is no other way since refunds have stopped. For more almost two years now, they have been keeping refundians in an endless loop of waiting for a non-existant „refund specialist“.

Scummiest company ever.

Let's look on the bright side. When this game is opened to beta or early access, everyone's pc hardware will be at a sufficient level. (ssd, video card, processor) They may be waiting for the development of technology because they cannot provide optimization right now. Yeah, that's pretty funny.

I mean that's one of the main reasons the game keeps going, both lovers and haters just cant get enough of it.

The main differentiating factor is that lovers get their fun by following the development, playing and discussing the game.

Haters just get their fun from trolling and negativism.

Guess who's "winning".

Clearly SC is just a gayer version of Star Wars, it's like if Care Bears came together to take down the Nazi's.

My only concern has always been the combat, if it is pew pew, it is dead to me. If it has some sort of tactical combat, even MMO combat with cooldowns and whatnot, then I will buy the game for sure.

You would rather play one of the most horrible, lazy and retarded type of tactical combat systems, than a decent action combat system?

It depends but basically yes, the worst of MMOs is still better than the best of action games. If 'action combat' even in a space game meant something like Dragons Dogma or Dark Messiah converted to space combat, then I would choose that. But most likely it will be flying in a circle shooting at a target predictor like most other space games, which is retarded bullshit.

The last MMO I played worked like this, an enemy attacks my Bard, I start using a song which does some damage to the enemy and builds up 2 power points. I use it again and again to get a total of 5 of the points. Then I can choose from several different ways to spend those points, all in real time. If I got beat up badly while I was using the song, then I quickly choose to use the points on a self heal spell. If I am fighting 2 targets and the first one got injured, then I convert the points into a large dirge spell, enough to kill the enemy and then I can focus on the second one. If I barely did any damage but I have a friend who is doing good damage because he is a Rogue or something, then I can use my points to become an Anthem of Battle to boost his abilities. Tactical decisions, life or death based on what you do, made under pressure in real time. Are you really telling me you would rather shoot at a circle?

Not even close.
MMO's have really badly designed and boring gameplay systems. While an action game with bad gameplay is a bad game, no matter how solid the rest is.

Tactical decisions, made under pressure in real time.

The best action games take that premise and take it to eleven. Where a single bad decision is enough to get you fucked.

Depends on the MMO, there are only really 2 old ones that I care about but nothing beats them, action or otherwise. If a bad decision fucks you in a game then I consider that tactical combat, even if it plays like an action game. My problem with pew pew space games is that there are no decisions like that. You shoot at the box, good aim and it dies, bad aim and it dies slower. That's about all there is. I suspect that is how this game will be. What I described in the last post of an MMO would be awesome in a space game. And in fact I just started Starsector which seems like it might be along those lines.

A little 2d space game probably made by 1 dude, and I bet it ends up being far better combat than this 5 zillion dollar mess.

After spending at least 1000USD you are given access to bug-free feature-complete version of game. Which cannot be shared by anyone (you have to sign special EULA), that is why you do not see people talking about it. Only insiders know. But really, what is there to lose if you just buy some awesome ships to your game? Go for it. I suggest going all the way. Mortgage if need be.
