You can climb up everything, including trees:

This pillar is HUGE and I almost managed to reach the top before running out of stamina and falling to my death:

I love the landscapes and the sense of scale. Cliffs are tall, ruins are massive.

IIRC, you'll get an hilarious sex scene if you court Yennefer or Triss if you installed a pirated copy.
If not, that's a missed opportunity from CD Projekt, from turning this into nightmare fuel, forcing pirates to zip up their pants.
I know they replaced some female models, but I'm not sure if the change is triggered during Yen/Triss sex scenes, or if these characters were spared.
Gaymers wearing eyepatches should have a similar punishment, if you asked me. Scenes like this are the same in both versions:

I've no clue what you mean by 'pirate copy'. GoG version of TW3 is DRM-free as usual. And I beleive this is a legit screenshot from the main quest line if player decides to go for this little specific outcome.

Well... duh. Of course the pirate could fap to Triss at Rule34, or by viewing the Playboy issue starring her. My point is, it's a punishment. The player will wish to have a bath, after watching Geralt french kiss a monstrosity while he's fucking her. It's a huge 'turn off'.
It has my seal of approval.

Edit: Okay I did a little research, and it's Witcher II that displays the (vomit-inducing) middle finger to the pirates, not Witcher III. My point still stands, it's a nice way of screwing with such players.

it would be impossible for the game to be aware whether it was pirated or not if there was no copy protection to begin with.

My explorations of Conan Exiles continue! First, let's explore the humid rainforest to the southeast. Some spiders have taken over this part of the forest. Lots of silk to harvest:

There's a pretty huge tree over here. I'm gonna climb it just because I can. Don't even expect to find anything up there other than a nice view.

During my explorations of the rainforest, I come upon overgrown ruins. The Lost City of Xel Ha!

Down there, I find a door that leads into the throne room of the witch queen. She awakens giant stone guardians to stop me!

Okay, back to the desert.

I find a stone pillar again and try to climb it.

This time I actually make it!

Finally, my way leads me to the Unnamed City.
