These fucking paeonian niggers got me so mad. They were constantly harassing me with masses of light cavalry, so I went and captured one of their cities, but it was a pyrrhic victory, and they've quickly recaptured it. So now it was time for the FINAL SOLUTION TO THE PAEONIAN QUESTION. The very elite of my army is marching towards Paeonia:

The last days of paeonian Stobi, the city that I've already captured once, but wasn't able to hold it. Now I have my phalangists, hypaspists and Thessalonian hoplites to besiege the city, and companion cavalry, led by Philip himself, to massacre any units that would try to come to the besieged city's rescue:

Here's the plot twist: after capturing Stobi without much problem, I rushed my cavalry to Bylazora to scout it. You see, I didn't want to make the same mistake again. Stobi itself would be open to attacks from the north, so I utilized blitzkrieg tactics and moved my army to besiege and capture Bylazora immediately after being done with Stobi. I completely took the paeonians off guard, and Stobi itself is now perfectly secure, along with its three nearby mines - no harassing light cavalry raids will be able to pass through that narrow valley between Stobi and Bylazora guarded by my heavy infantry. By capturing these two cities, I have castrated the paeonian horseniggers and took from them some crucial strategic resources. They are no longer an immediate threat, and will be completely subjugated after I take a breather to consolidate my forces. Now I can also recruit paeonian horsemen myself, and they will be a useful asset to deal with the Illyrians bothering me from the west.

edit: Crimson Tears on PS2. suffering through its terrible camera, it's a fun ARPG-roguelite-beat 'em up. several characters to play and a variety of movesets to use based on what weapons you have equipped, will probably write more in-depth about it once my vacation hits.

was also testing the crt-royale ReShade filter with pcsx2, since it seems to be the de-facto recommendation. i don't love it, the 4th screenshot was using the out of the box 'advanced CRT' filter that comes with ReShade, i think it looks better and scales better.

Tactics? 9 optimal teams. Two brawlers in front row, Healer and Caster in back row (protected from non-ranged attacks by brawlers). Freya in back row (not protected, but tough enough + can cast combined spells together with the Caster, which can also inflict Sleep or Paralyze):

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
But just exactly how realistic this dismemberment stuff is in the game?
Still a bit wonky because it's a beta, you can play the test version for free, just go to the Steam store page and click apply for playtest (it will automatically grant you access).
Locational damage actually matters, a wounded arm can't swing as hard, wounded legs can't walk as good, it's fun when both duelists are wounded and walk around like cripples trying to land another hit. A cut throat will make the guy gurgle and fall to the ground. Severed limbs usually end the fight. Stabs through the chest are usually lethal because organs.
