Wish it was less railroaded with more forensic puzzles and actual dialogue choices but I'm still drawn in and dig the background art.

Inspired by this poignant message, the Boss (which was supposed to look like Oddjob, but actually ended up looking like one of the Blues Brothers) decides to follow his innermost desires and undergoes trannification. It is instantaneous and only costs $500. SMA would like this place.

Meet Ms. No-Tits. As you can see, she's a very violent grrrrrl. Her testosterone levels are still high, you know.

Sadly she ends up getting cocky. Get it? Cocky.

...anyway, she got wasted and decided to take out her frustrations on some cisgender scum.

Phantasmal - if you like Still Life, don't forget to check Post Mortem (if you haven't already, that is). Also, do yourself a favour and steer clear of Still Life 2.

I liked Saints Row 3 more than 2, but that might be because when I got Saints Row 2 it had horrendous speed-up issues which Volition refused to patch because they didn't see it making them any more money to patch a game to run properly on Win7.

Why saint row the third is considered shit, among its fans?.
A lot of people dropped off because it got "too wacky" and they could no longer take their game about spraying poo on people seriously enough. Others have a fairly legitimate complaint that the story is really chopped up with a lot of cut content (it had troubled development and it does show), so it feels pretty disjointed or unfinished in parts. The third major complaint is that the city itself isn't as interesting, varied or fun to explore, with less personality and much less in the way of little secrets and side areas to find. That was probably my biggest complaint - I really enjoyed my time with the game, but it didn't make the most of its open world in that sense, and it takes an interesting/fun setting to explore to really make an open world game great for me. Otherwise, the gameplay's great, the diversions are mostly good and the missions are fun, varied and well-designed. I'd kill for a new Saints Row with the gameplay improvements of 3-4 set in a city as interesting as 2's. Or, hell, just set in the same city, since I never got to play 2 much.

I just checked and see that Post Mortem was the prequel to Still Life. Shit, I probably should have played that first. I always thought that was the alternative title for Still Life 1 for some reason.

I had read Still Life 2 was a buggy mess in a couple reviews and didn't bother picking it up. Are bugs the only problem with it or is it simply a bad game? Wiki shows Microids only published it and Gameco Studios (whoever they are) were the devs, so that could be why.

Post Mortem and Still Life are pretty much unrelated narratively, so it doesn't really matter which one you play first. The only thing in common is that you play Gus McPherson in Post Mortem.

Dunno about bugs, but the game is just bad. It has some very bad pacing, and is essentially one fucklong extended "find the passcode among dozens of seemingly irrelevant props! ^__^' puzzle. The puzzles there are so retardedly fucking counterintuitive and obtrusive, around the middle of the game I just played with a walkthrough on 24/7 because I couldn't take it.

Read this idolninja's SR4 review bro, he compares SRTT&SR4 with SR2 a lot here and there.
Basically, the old fans perceive the series as San Andreas clones, and when SRTT+SR4 deviated greatly from their roots, the butthurt occurred.
SRTT had the right theme but failed miserably at implementations, while SR4 is the other way around IMO.

If Volition made SRTT stories a little bit cohesive&thoughtful, let Johnny Gat lives, keep Shaundi as her SR2 version, make enemy bosses a little bit interesting, then I believe the old fans won't bitch too much.

Yes, SR4 is a super fun game, with that new SRTT engine, good PC version, much much better controls, etc. But with all those Aliens, presidency, and VR shit we can't call it GTA crime simulator clone anymore yes?

If they make the next Saints Row with no more alien bullshit, and make The Saints (with Johnny Gat) fights three hostile gangs with cool bosses instead (Saints vs Triad+Russian Mafiya+Dexter's new crime syndicate for example), while using the new engine and its improvements and keep all those over the top purple dildo jokes and shits, then everyone will be happy I guess.

Getting ready for the release of Memoria (Daedalic's new adventure game) by playing through Chains of Satinav. This game really does look gorgeous.

the new engine and its improvements

New engine is half the problem though. No coats, over shirts, socks, wear options or decals and 90% of the clothing options remove your underwear when it should be visible (while only 1 item in the ENTIRETY of SR2 did this to my memory).

I fail to see how that's a problem unless you want to play the game as a barbie simulator.
