I love the 1990's style of the drawings in Road Warrior.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I love the 1990's style of the drawings in Road Warrior.

Yes, it's old school and feels tripy thanks to all that green colour. I've played the first Quarantine too, but forgot to take screenshots. It's rough on the edges, very rough. You have a cab, a couple of upgrades, a repair garage (plus armor and nitro) and you cruise through the next sections of the city. Taking random passengers and doing stuff like fighting the evil corporation. I read the old manual, and devs mentioned war between Andhaira and Wyrmlord. But overall it lacked a strong plot and it was repetitive. And micromanaging your stuff was pain in the ass, thanks to ai behaviour. Everyone wants to kill you, excluding some poor civilians. So if you don't have a client in the cab you must be careful to not spend all cash on repairing and ammo. Still, I've beaten it. Road Warrior feels more story oriented, it's easier thanks to the resetting of all equipment and changing through the missions. It's shorter, but I won't complain. Graphics were a lot better thanks to glorious SVGA mode. But music was good in both parts, preety nice rock songs that don't annoy you but make a nice background to the armageddon on the streets. I would really like to see a combination of Road Warrior with Carmageddon damage system and driving. The latter was difficult in first Quarantine, because the car behaved like a faster tank and in some parts, where you needed to put the acceleration to the max it was rage inducing. RW was better in that department.

I enjoyed the Quarantine/RW back then but the "Doom-clone on wheels*" mechanics in Quarantine didn't age too well. But yeah, tweak it, incorporate Cramgeddon like driving and it would be glorious. And the apocalyptic, violent, grotesque atmosphere/style -truly a product of it's time. Would play a properly made remake/ripoff.

*well there weren't actually any wheels since the cars were anti-grav or something

Welp...that was anticlimactic.

I just noticed the devs accidentally added an "I" in the middle of his name.

That said, this fight really isn't all that interesting even if he resists your magic. Typically you get the hell away from the wall, so as to not take massive damage from his bouncing lightning breath and then hope to set up a lucky backstab or two.

Valjevo Castle is pretty neat, however. You actually don't need to do a single fight before Tyranthraxus and his guards. Utilizing the disguise, suitable parlays, and a good route, I was able to skip every fight, aside from the Medusa, which I wanted to scrimmage against to test whether or not mirrors could protect against gaze attacks...they actually do!

Never encountered any Thri-Kreen, Quicklings, or Displacer Beasts on this run. I don't recall ever running into those beasts in PoR ever, as they are likely uncommon random encounters on the wilderness map.

Fun enough replay, might be rolling into Curse once I figure out what sort of party I want to bring in.

Doing the mission entirely in IVA using Rasterprop to add missing instrumentation. You can attach external cameras to the ship. I got one pointing down to help with landing since the MK1 pod doesn't come with a decent window for that.
