Halfway.
Character progression is pretty non-existent, and weapon accuracy drops off way too fast. But other than that it's decently amusing.
It was quick, but satisfying. I wonder how the second one plays in comparison.

Also, I want Tenebrae with Dark Places' rockets and 'sploshuns.
Holy shit that looks so scary, I wouldn't be able to sleep for a week if I played this. Just the screenshots of those monsters make me uneasy.

Go for it. I postponed it too, but after playing it on hard I can tell you that is great. It's Quake on steroids, the number of monsters is more or less one hundred per level but the placement of them, plus all the hidden locations and new traps makes it great. New weapons are a mixed bag, I liked a laser cannon which gives you the upper hand when fighting the tough monsters. The hammer, I don't know, it didn't feel good, I prefered the old lighting gun. The empathy shield and a friendly monster thing were a nice powerups. These 3 episodes are really fast paced, and you can die easily if you don't think fast. The AI is of course superior to Q2 so fighting with a couple of ogres and other beasts at the same time was quite a feat. And it was made by the guys who developed later Sin and Heavy Metal Fakk 2, the world is a small place. Ritual sure knew how to make a good start. My inner completionist entity tells me to play the second one too, even if it isn't so great.
It isn't scary. It's fucking terrible BSB in every way imaginable.
I don't enjoy scary stuff at all, since it's left in my mind and I'm afraid in the dark for weeks after. Heck, I can get that from simply reading a bad creepypasta. I'm way too easily scared, and I don't enjoy it at all, so I never really got horror. (Besides, most horror games have mediocre or even crap gameplay so if you don't like the horror part, there's nothing at all about them to enjoy)
I had to play Ocean Hotel in Bloodlines in windowed mode so I'd have the comforting window borders at the edge rather than fully immersive fullscreen, and regularly at-tabbed to a walkthrough to know what's coming, so yeah...

I used teleport spell and pyramids to get over to the other side, ended up in the castle's back entrance, went on to kill Boreas. Went to the elemental forge only after that, had an encounter with immaculates... and after that encounter someone was like "hey, we got a key to the castle's front gate, now we can go kill Boreas!"
That was the second time in the game I broke sequence on accident

At first I was thinking this, but then I started getting flashbacks... turns out that someone had recommended the standalone version of the mod to me, and I downloaded it on a whim.
Sadly the "flashbacks" were from the included screenshots, and not from my personal experience. I got so bored with the damn mod that I uninstalled it after 30 minutes of gameplay.
I hate to say this, but I've yet to find a decent (unofficial) HL1 mod that I like. Even "They Hunger" had me raging for hiding the sniper rifle and yet expecting everybody to find it and use it "just like that".
