This is one of the most MAGNIFICENT Thief missions I've seen in a long time. The exploration is superb. A door to some house there, which has an attic, which leads to some ledges outside, from where you can go either left or right and both ways lead to other windows, then there are chains and pipes you can climb on to reach other places, and you just go on and on and find MORE AND MORE STUFF and then you look through a window and see a place with a guard in it but there is no obvious way to reach it, so you wonder how to get there but your explorations first lead you elsewhere because there is just so much to explore...

Holy fucking shit. The best of skacky's missions yet. Glorious taffery!

Hate that game so much when I was a kid. Many unfair designs. Will try to beat it 15 years later.

Looks like an old KOEI game - but which one ?

It's Genghis Khan II and yeah, fuck the random merchant mechanics.
Your whole economy is dependent on random merchants traveling around the world to sell off your produce.

Aliens versus Predator (1999)

Oh god I love AVP 1999 soooo much. The atmosphere was top-notch which AVP2 didn't have half of it. Facehuggers were fucking scary because they are insta-killing me and the game didn't allow me to save midgame (or so it seemed).

But I didn't know the graphics look that dated...

eh, it's no Quake 3 Arena or Unreal but it still looks good enough to me. AvP's gameplay remains very tense so you will probably forget about the dated visuals after a few minutes of play. Co-op is still great with some friends and the Classic 2000 games I host on Steam even attract random players most of the time.

There is also some "HD" mod but I think it's pretty terrible.

It's an RPG :o

After the briefing we get to select our loadout, we don't have room for that prisoner handling kit...

(An M16A2 in the 60's, the devs made a small mistake here.)

Our heroes embark on their epic quest:

You can change the insertion point if you so desire

It doesn't take long before we see a little village in the distance

I order the helicopters to look for Charlie

And request a little pre-emptive strike to tip the odds in our favor

Our boys advance towards the small village

and bring swift justice to the remaining VC

Mission accomplished but we find one last sneaky VC hiding behind a hut

Time to search the scene

we discover some weapons and documents

Now we COULD hike all the way back to the boat...
but not putting our expensive helicopters to good use would be a tragic waste :patriot:

The Seawolf takes our gallant warriors back to base

Warcaft 3 - Frozen Throne

Plus some RPG-lite bonus campaign I did not care about. Not bad for a DLC expansion.

Anyway, completing W3 - FT concludes my adventure with Blizzard Ent. Tried SC3_1 (shit) and have 0 interest in Diablow 3 or anything they plan to excrete in the future.
Goodnight, sweet prince.

That rpg-lite campaign was a sign of things to come, you played as a panda and you actually had to download a dlc to continue.
Warcraft 3 is kinda "meh" and poorly written, but I still have fond memories of trying to beat certain scenarios. Might "buy" it to remember those gud times.
