Mission Critical
Why this first person adventure game from 1995 kicks ass : Very well written sci-fi story with attention to detail, beautifully crafted surroundings, big areas to explore, excellent logical puzzles seamlessly connected to the plot and setting. It's way better than the mediocrity of Myst with its random puzzlefaggotry and theme-park mentality, yet myst was selling like pancakes while this game dissolved into obscurity. Play it, it's fucking great.
At last, after 9 FTL jumps we've reached our destination !
What's this commander, you're playing Tyrian 5000 again ? Watch out, a big bunch of enemies is coming your way !
This is the combat radar captain, we're under attack !
It's a trap, we're fucked! It seems it's all up to YOU, lieutenant Ghostdog.
All alone in a ship that has no communications...
With a fusion reactor that has reached critical levels...
At least I got the elevators back on line.
No shuttles to escape...
SHIT. I have to re-install Windows XIV
...the final frontier.
Did I mention that I have to get outside to fix the comms ?
At last I found the correct relay path to the base.
I AM LORD HIGH ADMIRAL CHARLES DECKER !
Whatever dude.
