It's a cultural thing then. Here the concept of 'þegn' has no aristocratic association, the only status brought about by the title is being the best-treated slave of the bunch.

Yes, we had slaves. Just like everyone else.

Somewhat unrelated but I didn’t know I had access to thorn (þ) on my keyboard until I read your post. Thank you, Unkillable Cat.

10/10 It's undertale but better (combat, characters, etc.)
Not the full game, kinda like the undertale demo.

This look bad. 850 Bacchus Empire Army vs 1060 Kingdom Sarleon Army

uCCsTah.jpg

I can't risk charging forth any more. Picked up a discarded crossbow and started firing away from cover. Both armies are constantly advancing and retreating. I must've swapped like 2 mounts in this battle.

Alas, a stray arrow put me down and that was the end of my participation.

sfFnUhR.jpg

But I got a good feeling. We backed the Empire. It felt like we killed more than our enemy. But I can't be sure since they outnumber us by around 200 more.

e60tYes.jpg

The biggest problem when facing Sarleon Kingdom is always their Knights charging everywhere, wrecking infantry formation. Not to mention hardcore jousting damage that can one-hit kill anything unfortunate enough to stand in its patch. But we've killed hundreds of them at the start of the battle. Loads of baiting, sacrifices and circling around with our own cavalry.

XRrSKkx.jpg

Left with just their infantry and bowmen, the Sarleon Kingdom starts to melt under Empire's better infantry formations.

QOvJd6W.jpg

Everything looks sealed when they had to do an uphill charge on a line of Empire's crossbowmen.

B52OVEn.jpg

3VuL2nd.jpg

Yeah, just more Sarleon fodders. Constant volleys just kept thinning them. As long no cavalry around to disrupt the crossbowmen, the Empire's got this in the bag.

SkzC0sj.jpg

It's over. Payday.
And thus ends a forty minute battle...
I lost around half of my warband of 30.
My employers, Bacchus Empire lost 475, 225 wounded.

NheXsAU.jpg

While our enemies...

:salute:

Also caught four fleeing lords in the aftermath. Ransom jackpot incoming.

Time to mop up...
Released captives recruited. Warband tags along with Empire's army once again.

Ransoms are paid out. Let's get the job done.
It's over mannequins...

We have the higher ground.

1A8AyZQ.jpg

Gotta say the feeling is incredible. You know there's 200 of them down there, and 200 allies up here. And this slow rumble as the mass gets in position just cannot be experienced in other games.

IUeivpQ.jpg

And then the rumble stops, the exchange of projectiles begins.

evVuILW.jpg

Then the rumble starts again as allied Cavalry begins their charge.

yTn4Hmh.jpg

And the enemy does the same.

Vcqy7jP.jpg

The screams, the feedback, blue text is good, purple is bad. Losses and victories.

x8aZFu9.jpg

I can stay out of it, find a secluded spot but no way. That's where the rush is, headed right into the storm, lance in hand.

0aJlKO9.jpg

Ride past their infantry line, straight into the archer lines as the soundtrack just gets louder and louder.

Smash. One down. I ride past, let my lance arm recover before riding in again...

The Vagrant (mild spoilers but I've avoided any of the twists or major stuff)

Swords-and-sorcery slasher/platformer/food porn inspired by classic sidescrollers and Vanillaware titles like Dragon's Crown, I originally backed the game's very modest Kickstarter campaign a few years ago but it sadly failed due to a lack of marketing from the Chinese devs. It would eventually find its way to Steam Greenlight and had a full 1.0 release a few months back. Though I love the art in these sorts of games, I'm not a huge fan of the gameplay itself, and most of my experience with Ghosts and Goblins/Castlevania-inspired games comes from h-titles these days. Still, The Vagrant is fairly newbie-friendly on Normal difficulty and you'll quickly get the hang of the controls using an Xbox gamepad. It's around 8hrs long if you're going for most of the side content and "True Ending" and stayed fairly enjoyable throughout. I found some of the later, multi-level areas less interesting than the earlier, more grounded (kek) ones - the descent into a ruined, haunted Kingdom driven to the brink by war and a desperate, mad King was actually extremely atmospheric and reminded me of the original Diablo or Dark Souls, whereas later on there were some very bland environments such as caves and generic fleshy chaos dimensions with annoying flying enemies. Being an old man, I had some trouble with bosses in the last third of the game due to so much going on at once, plus the fact a body ravaged by years of Monster Energy, potato chips and relentless masturbation can hardly match the reaction times of the more aggressive foes. Visually it's very pleasant, though obviously not up to the standards of George Kamitani et al (particularly the fanart-tier cutscenes), whilst the music is an interesting mix of traditional orchestral sounds, Matt Uelmen (check out the track "Ancient Battlefield"), metal, and even trance beats. If you're a fan of the Mega Drive classics or Vanillaware, it's worth picking this up for a few dollars when it goes on sale again.

I was waiting for this: Silly pics. Hopefully someone makes new avatars from these portraits, as some are gold, especially the new ones from Bpants.

Looks like discount-Dragon Crown, complete with a sorcerer with magically enhanced giant tits.

Dragon's Crown/Grim Grimoire/Odin Sphere actually has an in-universe canonical reason for Necromancers having huge tits. Not that it needs one.
