:shredder:

edit: In this mission which is called "The great escape" you have to outrun a pack of buses on an oval track with that "Reliant" car. It's vehicular survival horror at its finest.

If you beat them you win the car and then the game really begins.

MAP25 of AV is one of the bestest shits ever.

Shame the immediate maps thereafter can't compare, fun as they are.

Absolutely. Demonic Hordes and most of the previous maps are examples of slaughter done right. Sadly the map after that is the exact opposite and just a waste of time. Alien Vendetta remains great but if the last few maps are like 26 I think it's time to start another megawad.

Nope, but the game is very moddable so your wish could easily become reality.

You can paint it in any colour you want though.

Zero Team U.S.A.

A less known beat'em up made by Seibu Kaihatsu Inc. who are known for Raiden shooter series. I wouldn't put it on a top 10 list when asked, but it's a good game where you beat ninjas and evil demons and you punch so hard, that they explode. I couldn't ask for more.

Hey that's a nice capital guarded by a single warrior in 1850 AD that you have there. Would be a shame if someone were to...

Animations are ok but poses and facial expressions are something else, they are instant like flip-flop with a switch giving it even more comical effect.
And main antagonist looks like Hitler without his iconic moustache.

Playing the final map of the Age of Wonders campaign, as the Elves and allied with the Highmen.
The Undead Inioch was killed early on by a Human Air Ship, and the Human leader Joseph refused to make peace, so he was the next to fall. Then it was only one enemy left - Meandor.

Adrian Mole survived and everything was bliss, but why doesn't the map end?
Maybe I need to End Turn for an Allied victory to kick in?
But no...

Allied victory...disabled?!? :argh::argh::argh:

Grrr...Julia really needs to defeat Gabriel?

Funny thing about this map, and the game in general. I started with a Ballista and a Catapult, and built a few more Ballistas, but they never saw any action, always being too late. Movement really is nearly everything in this game, which is why the Halflings and the Dwarves kind of suck, with their slow lvl 4 units.

Wolfenstein 2009. The lost Wolfenstein game.

Solid game from that FPS era that came after Half-Life 2 and Bioshock but before Far Cry 3. Narrative focus, crazy weapons with upgrades, powers, lots of scripted setpieces, basically linear levels. It has a hub world that is traversed between missions, but unlike modern open worlds it doesn't feel like a repetitive chore since it is fairly small. It's not a game that stands out in any one way, but it's enjoyable throughout. Only part I disliked was the boss fights, which are the worst sort of puzzle bosses, in particular the climactic boss fight which drags on for an hour. Visually not bad, especially the over the top weapon effects and enemy animations (some nice details too like individual bullet holes visible on enemies).

I like carrying my ballistas with dwarven balloons. Stuffing balloons full of ballistas (or ballistas and giants). The only level 4 I've built on my current playthrough is the air galley, on maps without humans I haven't bothered to upgrade any cities to level 4. I guess the elf level 4 (nature elemental) is good in theory but I really cba with upgrading cities to level 4 for a walker. I'd rather use air balloons with ballistas and giants if I can't build air galleys. Or send a bunch of level 3 flyers (eagle riders/wyverns) after enemy leaders.

Anyway, onwards halfling soldiers!

Yes, if you have ships or air transports, or Air Magic (I didn't) slow machines become more viable.
Eagle Riders are excellent scouts and harassers, but too weak as serious military units IMO. I'd rather use Centaurs for that.

The Nature Elemental is excellent. Very fast and very resilient.
